The actual sanding and prep work took about 8-10 hours total over a few day.

The spray liner for two coats was about an hour, including the mixing and clean up.

Re: Got to do something with the bed floor

With a gun. I got the kit that comes with the special Shultz (sp?) gun. Sprays really nice!!! The Raptor gallon kit comes in 4 quart bottles and the bottle of activator. You pour in the activator to the line on the bottle, shake it really well, screw the gun right onto the bottle and spray away. Clean gun with acetone when done.

Nice thing, with being in individual bottles, I only used two quarts for the bed floor. Gives me the other two to use how I want (like front and rear fenderwells (tire side) and under the cab.

Re: Got to do something with the bed floor

I used the kit from Wal Mart a few years ago to do the bed of my Dodge Ram. Like the others have said its all in the prep work. Held up well and looked good. Plus easy to touch up.

Re: Got to do something with the bed floor

Yes, I just did the floor with two quarts. The full kit will easily do the whole inside of the bed. I actually had about 1/3 left in the second bottle but was done with the floor and nothing else was ready to spray.

Bedsides and tubs are getting paint. Nice thing about doing this, after I cleaned up the floor, I had the rust pock marks and some small dents. They almost all disappeared after coating.

Texture can be adjusted based on spray pressure, distance, etc. The way I did it, it came out like really big grit sandpaper Take like 40 grit and supersize it. LOL

As for thickness, it's how much you put on. I have no real idea how thick mine is but I did two fairly heavy coats. It filled all the pock marks and even some of the small dings.

Re: Got to do something with the bed floor

I used a product by SEM tintable bed liner you tint the material with the color of your truck/ or whatever color you wish to have. its a great product and is easy to spray. check into it! I love it , I have it in my truck on my avatar pics to follow ...Pat

Re: Got to do something with the bed floor

The paint shop has "tint" colors which is what is mixed in to make custom color paint. They just mix it in with the bed liner stuff.

I know Raptor makes a tintable version if you want to custom color it. I had thought about doing it but could not decide on what color I am painting the truck so I just went with black.
