Re: Can anything cool be built without air bags?

I think the bagged trucks are neat but their just not my bag! I would rather static drop mine which I did and save the difference for gas to drive it.

I am lucky to have both...the 65 with bags and this 58 with a static TCI. The static suspension is my preference if you want to drive it. If you want it to look awesome standing still...bags.. Just my humble opinion.

Nice. There are still lots of good looking trucks that aren't laying on the ground.
Lets see some more.

Re: Can anything cool be built without air bags?

You can build a really low ride and not run bags, but why? Before I had air suspension I had some pretty low cars and trucks. I was forced to watch for bumps in the raod and driveways with steep angles. I constantly repaint front bumpers, and worried about A-arms scraping.

My current hotrod is on bags, and I LOVE it. I can cruise low, ride high, and carry a load if I need to. And lakeroadster is right, regardless of how you build them they should be safe. Mine is set to roll even if the system fails.

Re: Can anything cool be built without air bags?

Dropping trucks/cars is infectous. With me I started with a lowered dually on bags. Still looked like a static drop. Then got into it more and realized I needed 22s on the duece, and to do that I had to do a bunch of custom work, also, slammed out looked better the more I was looking at them. Now I have 3 trucks that are bagged, and will bag my 54, maybe the riv too. The point is you get hooked and want more...

That being said...I struggle with big 22s, on old cars and trucks, unless it really fits the image of the vehicle. 20s and 22s on 88 to 98s look right... older stuff has to really work together. DELMOS wheels look awesome on the brown truck and I dont think Dinos crew would look right with Stock steels or supremes... See my angle?

Im a purist (kinda) comes to the older stuff. But this stuff gets to you and when done right pulls you to the dark side...
