Thats funny you found out out it was the carb. All this time I thought was the 305 heads.

Like I said in the other post I have a 350 bored 30 over with 305 heads, and have never had any problems with it dieseling. Due to the higher compression 93 octane is essential, and timing will need to be adjusted. My was also a daily driver for about 3 years and made many of road trips over two hours long in Texas summer heat, and never once dieseled. But you don't have to take my word for it.

Btw: welcome whiskeyman. jorgensensc, would a good compression check would give you an idea of what's happening? I'm not into racing or stuff like that, but I would interested in knowing what the differences would be. |
