Re: My 67 short stepside
Here is a better picture of the new cab floor. Most of the firewall is out waiting on us to figure out what else has to go away on the firewall. Front lip of firewall hasas to come off to completely smooth it. After that a new rear cab panel will go on, and smooth out roof peak, fix the cab's metal to left of back glass and shave drip rail above windshield and slightly shave side drip rails. Lot to do to fix neglect.

Re: My 67 short stepside
Awesome, you're really getting after it.
Any pics from when you owned it before? I've owned my 67 C10 for almost 18 years and I hardly ever took any pics during the "early years." I have 2 pics right after my dad primed it flat black w/clear, but I never took one single "before" pic. That was really before I even knew what the internet was and nobody had cell phones yet (1997).

Re: My 67 short stepside
Jesse,
I have some old 67 pictures in a scrapbook somewhere. I need to pull them out for the kids too. I will try to find them and out then up here. It was black, red interior with 6 lug gold and chrome modular wheels. Cool At the time. Picked up another factory frame yesterday. Roadster shop chassis is too low for us and dang expensive. If I was going full race I would go for it but grocery getter and a few runs a year at good guys shows it is not worth it. I will get done pictures of the powder coated frame shortly up here. Nothing fancy just a clean canvas for us to modify. |

Nice work. Mine looked a bit like yours when I started. Not many like the paint but everyone likes what's up front!

Re: My 67 short stepside
Taibo,
Get you get the power down? I am worried about traction. I will be running a 335 or 345 rear and hopefully 305 up front. |

Re: My 67 short stepside
Thanks Ryan.
Baer six piston 6S brakes were shipped this week. So soon we will have front brakes. Rear Baer brakes are coming on 35 spline powder coated Currie Fab 9 with trusses added. Also has a floater hub assembly on the rear end. Hopefully we can get the firewall in this weekend. Then we will move to roof skin and drip rails. Msybe soon we can put cab back on the frame for measurements for LS set back. |
