Here's my '82 Silverado C30 w/6.2. I also installed a 10 blade Hummer fan to get rid of the stock 6 blade fan and clutch

How much cooler are you runnin with the 10 blade setup. Do you notice a difference. I heard if you stand in front of the read it allmost wants to suck you in from the turbulance from the fan. I want that setup 10 blade and a dual thermostate setup

Re: Let's see those 6.2 Detroits!!!

thanks, been too busy to work on it for almost a year now. I had some time tonight an threw some batterys in it, glow plugged for 20 seconds (10* here in WI) and barely touched the key and it was running!!! I was actually hoping it didnt start so I wouldnt want to work on it so bad lol. some reason I found a passion for these engines, not a powerhouse but a good ecconomical and reliable as long as they arent turned up much.

Re: Let's see those 6.2 Detroits!!!

I dont want to take away from the diesel point in the thread so soon ill start a project as suburbalanch project. I found bed sides in a junkyard and cut the bed rails off and put them over where the rear side windows were and chopped the tailgate flush.

Re: Let's see those 6.2 Detroits!!!

I'm trying!

I'm even researching how much of a PITA it would be to swap one into a gasser, since I live in California.

Re: Let's see those 6.2 Detroits!!!

I don't know about Cali, but diesels are exempt from emission testing up here in Anchorage Ak (which is about to be a moot point, emission testing is going away next month )
We just have to take it in to show it is a diesel and they give us an exempt sticker.

Good luck on your swap!!

Hang tight. I found a diesel, but it's a K30. I really want a 2wd though.

I love those vids of the ones with superchargers on them. I'm more curious to hear if they run well or not? Keep the boost down and it might be ok.

Re: Let's see those 6.2 Detroits!!!

That's cool!
So you can flip the down pipe 180 degrees on the turbo?
Can you also flip it 90 degrees where it is pointing at the passenger fender?

Re: Let's see those 6.2 Detroits!!!

Just 180 and only two of the four bolts line up hence the high temp blue gasket in between the two surfaces with out it i noticed a very slight leak. Its not a perfect square its rectangular shaped but while i had it off, i made a template of the mounting flange. It seemed to me like it'd be pretty simple to build my own flange.
