Re: 1964 C10 db on 22s

haha mine arent at the top of the bed ... I dont think. When this frame was started it was ment to go into a 2001 silverado now that it is going into a 64 there is some width issue. even though it is .5 inch more narrow than the stock the wheels wanna hit the bodyline even with our negative camber. in the pik you can kinda see our wheel addapters. well those make the vette 5 lug convert to the big 6. problem is they are 3 inches wide each. what we have had to do is switch from vette hubs to trailblazer front 4wd hubs(same spline count as a vette) but they are small 6 so we had a piece machined to addapt the hubs. i will post piks of all of that process here in a little bit

Re: 1964 C10 db on 22s

Ok, so being originally built for a 2001 silverado we had a few clearance issues. First was the vette rear independent with the 01 the width was fine. However on the 64 was a little skinnier. When we srtarted the standard adapter worked just fine. But bieng almost 6 inches thick we were back at square one. Through lots of research and some dumb luck.... and working at a GM collision center we found that AWD trailblazer front hubs have the same drive splines as a Corvette. But the lugs are 6x5 and we needed the big chevy 6. Well with a little ingenuity and a machinist we came up with these. I also included a pik of new by the old adapter.

Anyone ever shave the drip around the firewall? If so did you weld it solid all the way around?

Re: 1964 C10 db on 22s

Ya that's kinda why we are going a little bit overboard on some things cause we don't have the cost of replacing sheet metal. We will see though the cab is going to the sand blaster this week.

Re: 1964 C10 db on 22s

This truck came from Mississippi and is amazingly really rust free. A couple pin holes in cab corners and thr lowers on the front fenders. We were really fortunate to find this in Missouri in this shape.
