Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem
I say it's plain ignorance and not appreciating the last ot the true built GMC Trucks. I'll never switch, V6 all the way and the bigger the better.

Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem
I've had 2. And while I'll agree they are torque monsters that make great power from off idle, on up...they are heavy, thirsty, and certainly no performance truck motor.

Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem
Well I do admit the 305 V6 was sluggish in acceleration it is heavy for it's size, If you know anything about these engines they were undercarbureted for starters, due to the oversquare design there is potential for performance. I've been tinkering with these engines since 1975 and I've been able to get decent performance out of them. But when you get a GMC V6 with 401-478 ci it's a whole different story the weight no longer is a disadvantage and you have V8 like performance and pulling power a V8 won't match. I know of a 401M V6 in a 1/2 ton pickup the guy is is getting 17mpg with 3.07 gears & ovedrive with plenty of power and acceleration to spare, there's no substiitute for cubic inches and GMC V6's were built to be "REAL" truck engines rather than pasenger car engines put in trucks. Preserving these 60's built GMC trucks by retaining the V6 as well as upgrading the displacement gives these trucks a great deal of uniqueness over the rest and it really does attract attention at car shows.

Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem
Remembered this old thread and that Unique 351 Emblem.
Here is another truck that has this Emblem from the CL....pretty sure it's been floating on there before. However the ad now has a pic of this Emblem that looks to be on both sides and must be rare as well. http://swmi.craigslist.org/cto/3272651376.html

I would love to have a set of them to go on one of my V6 trucks. These engines sure are interesting and the badge would let people know its worth popping the hood since its not just another SBC.
