Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

Me, my wife (it WAS her great-grandmother's truck, after all), my mother in an emergency situation, the muffler guy, and the guy that did my lower ball-joints (of course, by the time I came to the decision to let someone else do them, I would have happily let anybody run the thing off a cliff!!!).

Just me so far. But I have no problems lending out any of my vehicles to my family or friends. I absolutley HATE borrowing other peoples vehicles though.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

Me and my dad. No one touches the GMC. My mom wanted to drive it once, so I took her for a spin around the camproad. By the time we got back (less than 5 min.) The truck was:
Too old
Too loud
Stinky
Rattely
Uncomfortable
Slow
Rode too rough.......By that time she wasn't done complaining, so I told her to get out.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

I bought my truck five years ago..I been thinking and the only drivers since I bought it are me and I let my wife drive it once in a while cause I like to watch the truck driving down the road and she looks super driving the pink & white truck with her long blond hair blowing in the breeze..

My buddy after he did the brakes for me drove it 2 blocks with me riding shotgun and my friend from the front to the back of his bodyshop last year when I had the stake holes filled and the top of the box painted.. Next week I'm taking my truck to get the trans serviced and I'm staying with the truck and will go with the technician for the road test after its serviced...

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

I owed a good friend a favor and let him borrow it to haul trash to the dump... what was worse is he let his wife drive it. It made me sick to see her behind the wheel with a full load of their nasty, smelly, leaking, maggot filled garbage. I cleaned her up (the GMC) and never loaned her out again. Not many people wanted to drive her anyway with her mottled primer paint job.

Nobody.........not even me. I'm hoping to fix that problem by fall though. At least have it so I can run it down the drive and back.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

the only person who drove my 68 other than me was the MIL. this was back when it still had manual drums and steering. she went about 1/4 mile and blew the front brake hoses. since then only me. I at times ask the wife to "just pull it back a little" in the driveway or something like that and she refuses. she says "its too big to see out of" or "too old and uncomfortable" lets see what happens after I finish the stepside. "sorry honey, its too big and old for you" LOL

I've let the wife drive it around the block , after I did the headlight conversion so I could see how much brighter the headlights were ,that is the only time someone else has driven BB .

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

Let's see, my Dad & my "brother" always get a crack at any new driver that I have. Then my sister has driven it 2X. My g/f drove it on a road trip for a tank of gas, and I let the lady where my sister used to board her horse drive it once. And the guy at the exhaust shop & one at the tire shop. those are the only 2 things I don't work on, exhaust & tires... So 7 people total. of them, 3 were willingly...

My dad drove the Blazer when we went to pick it up. I figured it was the least I could do since he went with me, oh and since he helped create me.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

In the last 6 years since I've owned the truck, it's been me, my wife (once) and the alignment guy and the exhaust guy. My brother was the most recent owner, and also did the inspection on it. His wife drove it a couple of times, and my Dad drove it a couple of times. Grandma was the owner before she passed on, and it was bought from her estate by my brother, and Grandad drove it when he was still around. Grandad bought it when it was 2 years old, so I wouldn't know how many drove it before, but there's a good chance that only 10 people have driven this truck since 1974

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

TONS of people have driven mine. Countless Valets, my friends borrow it to pick up stuff at the store. My parents drive it a lot. Pretty much if I know ya, you can drive it or borrow it. I'm like that with all my vehicles except my vette (and that's only b/c of the sentimental value)

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

In the 29 years I've owned it, just two people besides myself. My wife has driven it a few times (but not in the past several years), and I loaned it to my son once a few years ago to go hunting.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

'ol yeller gets barrowed for the dup runs and long stuff (it has a lumber rack on it).

The black one doesn't get borrowed (even I wont use it for hauling) My cousin is using it right now though because his '69 long step and his 72 GMC are both down... maybe I should think again about him using the truck!
