I just checked his post and he is only asking $1500. He might have lowered the price since talking to you on the phone. I would say grab it if you have the space, tools, knowledge, and time. Oh yeah.....the money too.

Re: Craigslist Find: 1968 crew cab

I vowed not to bring home any more projects...

1970 LWB almost done (going to my Dad)
1972 CST Blazer - waiting in the wings in my yard
1967 SWB GMC - waiting in the hills of Colorado still (should be here in little over 2 weeks) -

If I was looking - this would be gone by now - somebody had to of checked it out by now...

Your Lucky it's in Flint, and not in the NW or you would be to late. I would have grabbed that as soon as I saw it for that price. (If there wasn't a huge rust issue) other then that, nothing else would stop be from getting it. All the hard work looks to be done.

Re: Craigslist Find: 1968 crew cab

This looks like one that was in nashville at a swap meet a few years ago. I bought a radiator from the guy. I think i even went to his house and got some corvette ralleys and he talked about the truck. If its the same guy..he said he had cut it down from a burb.

Re: Craigslist Find: 1968 crew cab

I am new to this site. Looked several times but just registered last week. A friend of mine & myself just picked this truck up early last week. The guy selling it said that it came from Kentucky in 03'. Whoever started this project had the right ideas in mind. The roof has all been redone so it does NOT have the hightop roof like the suburbans and the frame has been stretched 5" to accomodate the longer wheelbase of a truck. Whoever stretched the frame did a very professional job. This truck will be on the road by this winter. I'll post some pictures of the build as it goes.

By the way, this is a three door. Would like to convert it to a full crew. Thinking that since the rear doors are not as wide as the fronts, I need to locate a suburban right side rear door so I can change the latches & hinges around to make work. If anyone knows about a door of this type in "decent" shape, I would definately be interested.

Re: Craigslist Find: 1968 crew cab

welcome VonChase, feel free to post a wtb ad in the classifieds if you are looking for a Suburban passenger rear door, you will get more looks. Also, very nice project, and good luck with the crew. Trevor

We bought a truck very similiar to this one just a little before 2003 but sold it thereafter to a guy I think from Hopkinsville, KY maybe?? This looks like the one we had but I just cant remember for 100% sure. If it is the one we had, I saw the guy who built it this past weekend.
