Dave...Really looking nice. Your ahead of me with that cab back on. You wouldn't remember how much you shortened the original steering shaft to hook that new ps rag joint? Thanks, Mark

yes, I followed "theastronaut" build thread and he shortened his 3 1/2" I went with 3 1/4" that gave a little gap between the dash and steering column collar. not so tight. but its not only the steering shaft you shorten but the sleeve and tube as well. well worth the 2-3 hours it takes!

Thanks, It does. So the part of the door that would be inside the door jamb area is all the Fawn interior color, correct?

Beautiful truck! Love that baby blue. The interior looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor...

Seat looks great as well as the rest of the truck! What were the material numbers on the cloth and vinyl and how much material is needed for one seat? I need to cover two seats on my Crew Cab and also need to cover the back of the front seat. I checked out the SMS web site and what they are showing for our trucks does not look anything like your seat.

Hi Dave
Truck is looking great. I like the E flasher in the lighter hole. I haven't seen that before. What wheels and tires are you going with?

Re: Restoring a 1965 Short wide! ole Blue

Wow, we have very similar tastes obviously.

I have a '62 SWB that I have been contemplating the very drive train combo you've installed in your truck...Crate 350 with 700R4.

My truck is even the same color combo as yours!

Here lately though, I've been contemplating maybe rebuilding the truck's original 283 that's still in it and running.

Maybe even a 5.3 / 4l60E combo...haven't made up my mind yet.

Yours is just gorgeous and is certainly an inspiration to me!!

thank you for the complement! you have a very original truck there. I would keep the original engine. the only reason I went with the 350/700r4 is I bought the truck with no engine/trans. im a all original kind of person. very nice truck! keep me posted on your decision. dave

That is going to be a real head turner and a great driving truck. I have been driving my 66 sb as a daily driver for 20 years. Love to drive it that's what I built it for.
