Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC

Another quick mod… I really have always loved the look of the cab sails on the C10s… And i know there not a GMC thing, so i just ended up using some double sided 3M adhesive to mount em instead of drilling my cab. But i love the look of em!… And i got a new gas cap Loving the little mods on this truck! Just love driving it too much!

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC

Nice looking mods! Out of curiosity, what size are those tires and wheels? I'm starting to wonder if I wouldn't rather have 235/75's on my 'Burb than the 265/75's I have on it now - I'm thinking some Firestone TransForce A/T's would look nice.

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC

They are 15"x6" rims, and 235/75r15 Stampede Radial A/S (cheapest tire available) But i like the look of em! Hope that helps

Us old guys get more comments and appreciation for our old trucks from the younger ladies than from the younger men. Young guys are just not that into old trucks, have no idea what year the trucks are and seem only interested in the latest video games....ha ha......

All you young guys need to keep in mind that the ladies like these old trucks I have solid gray hair and they still flag me down on the street and ask to look at the old guys 66.........

I've gotten quite a few comments from older guys (45 yrs.+) on my '85 1-ton over the 4 years it was my DD, but as I remember most of the comments on the 'Burb so far are from younger guys - it's "rad" or "f***** cool"... I'd rather hear the old guy comments, myself, or at least comments from someone with enough respect not to curse to me in public.

... and it was kinda funny when a guy pulled up next to me in a Geo Metro wagon a few years ago and tried to race my '85. I didn't try, but I wish I had.

Nice GMC! Your gauge cluster is so much better than mine. Let us know if you do the bed box thing with barn wood. That would add great character to your truck.

Welcome to the obsession

haha totally agree. Was at a college car show once and vehicles of way less character and quality of my truck got more praise... But I do gotta tell ya driving through campus i swear Id break some necks lol these trucks just have character and you dont see them much around my area so it draws alot of attention.

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC

Hey guys, so i have built that box for my truck! Built the frame from 2x4s and then covered it in barn wood from my great grandparents homestead. Really happy with how it turned out! I think it compliments the stock/ farm truck look Finished it off with a CNR Railway switch lock, adds a nice touch.

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC

A '62 Chevy would have clear turn signal lenses. I do not know for sure if a '62 GMC would be the smae, but I would think so.

It is really amazing the hackjobs one sees on radio openings. That one really isn't too bad compared to some I have seen.
