Re: Rust proofing on a Daily??

I have heard of people using the spray on bed liners on the frame. It seems like it would be effective, but of course you'd have to start with a clean frame. Anyone know of this?

Re: Rust proofing on a Daily??

It would hold up, but you would still have to watch it carefully. One little pinhole and the salt will find a way in. My wife's '03 has a blister on the door from roadsalt.

I've looked at a few newer vehicles that the bedliner was the only thing holding the bed together (rust).

The only places on my '73 that weren't rusted, was coated in old motor oil. 30 yrs of an oil leak will do that.

Wax that was suggested would be an option, I used Fluid Film because it was easier to get.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Find some BIG snow banks and go drift bustin'.

Or do like me, if possible, and use the back roads all of the time. They don't salt the gravel roads.

Then again you probably have a 2 wheel drive.

I do have a 2wd; and I live in the city; I haven't seen a gravel road in I don't know how long, plus you then have to deal with rock chips. If it ain't 1 thing its another...

Re: Rust proofing on a Daily??

Krown is great. Rust check is also similar. There are shop here in Ontario that spray full time year round. Our 1996 Jeep has been done from new there is very little rust. It's our full time winter truck. I think it would be rust free if I would have kept it out of the heated shop. When the truck is sitting out side below freezing the salt has little affect.

POR 15 is junk.
