Looks like a 2" receiver tube. Could be any implements. I have a vice on 2" tube for for the front of my jeep, to do u-joints on the trail. Also holds my gas powered blender... for trail margaritas!

Any one have pics of their rear winch mounts?
I'd like to know how you have them mounted and such since I have a spare 10,000lbs unit kicking around...

Re: Custom Bumpers

Thanks for the compliments guys. Ya the notches are for the high lift. I wouldn't do that again tho, they were more work than necesary. Next time I'll just weld on a chunk of angle iron as a lift brace.

The truck was rearend where it sits damaging the the lowers of the box and tailgate. Rather than replace the box sides I cut off the damage and incorporated the guards into the bumper and braced it to the frame. They turned out sturdier than I anticipated. The entire rear section is squared and subframed with the receiver then boxed around the frame with a custom crossmember support between.

The two uprights for the front brush guard are single L shaped pieces of 3/8" that run down the inside of the frame rails 10"s. Overkill, but I'm proud of em for my first try.

Re: Custom Bumpers

ok, thanks. since i am not really going off-road, i am trying to decide whether to maybe just keep the stock chrome bumper and just add a hitch receiver under it tied to the frame rails. this way i could put a hitch ball, or a hook to pull crap around as necessary.

Re: Custom Bumpers

I've done hidden hitches front and rear with a simple square-receiver license plate mount.

You're right.... there are times when it's really useful to just pull the plate off and slide in a 2" chunk of steel with a burly D-ring shackle on there.
