Good Job, it looks great! Can't wait to see some pics of it in the sun, my 01 tahoe is green with gold flake and you can't tell unless it's in the sun.

Ive always liked black and silver but I was thinking black and gold would look pretty good to. My Son picked the color scheme and when he told me he wanted black I was a little apprehensive about doing the bodywork for black. This is our 4th Truck and I have a ton to learn about bodywork and shooting paint. Really its not the paint I have a problem with, its the clear coat that seems to kick my butt. Thanks for the compliment.

Well next week we are going to start the long road to putting this thing back together. Today I got all the parts from Comp Cam to put the engine back together. Im waiting on the wood to come for the wood bed and lots of other parts. Im hoping that by time we get this thing back together the Sun will start coming out instead of rain. We've been painting and clear coating the last two days and it rained the whole time. Now that we are done the sun came out. I guess that comes with living in Oregon. Thanks for the Compliment.

What cam did you end up choosing? I was gonna suggest a comp cams xe268, that's what I have and I love it. It's very streetable, and has a good lope to the idle.

I went with the Comp Cam XE256H. Its supposed to have a ton of Torque in the low to mid range along with a fairly smooth Idle. Now if I were building a truck for myself and not my Son then I might get a little more radical. Ive got a friend that has the same cam in his 350 just like my set up and it gets down the road pretty good.

Thanks for the compliment. Now its off to color sanding and buffing, not my most favorite thing to do. I always get a little aprehensive when I start sanding and buffing on that much money.

We been putting the interior back together and got most of it buffed out today. I bought a 3rd step polish but Im not sure if I am going to mess with it anymore because it has polished out really nice with the first polish and the wool pad then the second polish with the foam pad. Here are a few pictures of the polishing we did today.

First off thanks to all for the compliments. Hey Paul do you recognize that tailgate? It was the gold one I bought from you. Took a little time with a screwdriver and a hammer but we got it pretty strait. On another note I guess I deleted the pics of that 4X4 but I will send a messege where to go and look at the pics. I will do that when I get home from the show with my Sons 64 Shortwide tomorrow.

We sprayed in a spray in bed liner on my Sons truck yesterday and I would like to tell you we had no problems but that is not how it happens around here. We were preping the bed and wire taping the bed and then my Dad called me. So I was standing at the front of the bed talking with my Father on the phone. I leaned on the front of the bed which is setting on horses at this point and then all hell broke loose. The cross support the front of the bed that it was setting on came loose and the front of the bed hit the floor with a resounding CLANG like a bell. Well needless to say after the second or third cuss word that came out of my mouth my Dad hung up. God must have been smiling on us yesterday because when we got it back up on the horses there was absolutly no damage what so ever. I told my Paint Mentor about what happend and he looked at me and said (Sometimes your jelly sandwich hits the ground Jelly Up) all I could do is laugh. I guess there is some profound wisdom in that statement. Well anyway here are some pictures of the bed and some other things we got done on it.

Now that you've got the painting down, I'm just down in Beaverton during the day . . .

My 68 just had 71 knuckles put on the front. At this point, it's still mostly 68, I believe.

U and me both Brother!!!! Im so ready for this truck to be down the street or should I say in my Sons garage so I can work on mine that its making me crazy. I picked up the engine today and it looks like a million bucks and hopefully it will run like a million sometime next week.
