Re: '85 Build up

The seat was a custom cover. Its vinyl with the chevy logo embroidered in. I'll get some more pics up pretty soon.

Re: '85 Build up

Got the bed primered this weekend.

I also built my box for my sub.

The box is 24x15x8x4 made out of 3/4" RFD Particle board covered in fiberglass. The sub is an Alpine Type R with a Rockford Fosgate 500.2. I hope I can get this bed blocked and painted by next weekend. Thanks for the comments guys.

Re: '85 Build up

Got some pictures of the sub and amp installed.

I need to prime the bed again and block it one last time before wet sanding. I am hoping to have it painted next weekend.

impressive project. keep up the good work &definitely know what you mean by running out of money . slows down many projects. Notice you have a nice looking floor shifter with a bench seat . Wanted to do same thing with my 84 but was told not enough room (because of seat ) to put one in . Yours looks fine . Any problems you have had with it . ?

Re: '85 Build up

Awesome build! And thanks for the pics of the dash. I had an idea of doing something similar, and seeing it done makes it a go!

slugish: I put a B&M Star Shifter in a F**d with a bench seat with no problems. That is the beauty of a cable operated shifter, you can pretty much put it anywhere it will fit.

Re: '85 Build up

I haven't had any problems with the shifter. Everything clears fine. When it ratchets it stays in the same posistion so it will clear fine. Its the B&M Pro-Matic II truck shifter. Thanks for the comments guys.

Re: '85 Build up

Did a lot of work this weekend. The truck is pretty close to being finished. I got the exhaust, wheels and tires, lights, grill etc on and I am happy with how it looks.

I just haven't got the tailgate buffed out yet, thats why it isn't installed. I need to fix some holes in the bed then spray the bedliner on. A few more chrome pieces and its ready to go.

Re: '85 Build up

You did a really nice job on that, like the color and interior. What type of wheels-I may have missed it in your write ups on the project.

Re: '85 Build up

The bumper is a '73-'87. I have Mickey Thompson 16x8 classic II wheels and Toyo open country AT tires. The tires are 305/70/16. On the exhaust, it goes from headers-pipes-glass packs-pipe-tips. It is 2 1/2" to the glass packs and 2 1/4" the rest of the way out. Thanks for the comments guys, Any other questions just ask.
