Re: The Ponderosa crew cab 64-66
At first glance it looks as though you split a cab in half and moved the front and back further apart. Upon closer inspection you can see you have split/combined two cabs.
Are you going to have a complete inner metal "stock looking" roof? Looks great |

Re: The Ponderosa crew cab 64-66
That last several months have been very busy getting the Ponderosa ready for SEMA. The pictures will tell a good story below but we are getting close.
First the B pillar and a large portion of the sheet metal work is done. The 5.9 Cummins valve covers have been over to Spectrum Powder Coating for coat of custom green to contrast with the GenRock light green by Lusid Technologies. I also did the motor mounts to the same green hammered and have even had them coat the injector lines a metal flake silver with hints of green to have it pop under the lights or in the sun. There is 3 inches to spare behind the motor and plenty of room under the hood so I am designing a liquid to air intercooler. I'm having Joe at Cinderella Customs do the painting and Stitchwurx is doing the upholstery. As it is now the height is about 8' and the length is around 20'.

Re: The Ponderosa crew cab 64-66
Idiosyncrasies. Yeah, I have them. I love the clearance lights that come on the 67 to 72 GM trucks. Unfortunately the ones that came on the 66 and older were the dealer installed screw on ones. I've never particularly cared for them as much as the 67 to 72. Well, it's my truck, I'll build it the way I like it. Besides, you guys know that I go off the reservation occasionally.

Maaaaan! They are totally killing it over at Cinderella customs on the Ponderosa bed sides. I am so excited I can't hardly stand it. I know this is going to be absolutely gorgeous when it's done. I'm looking forward to the bed assembly session. Check out Cinderella Customs and like their page @ciderellajoe1962 every like they get will be a dollar off of the overall job.

Re: The Ponderosa crew cab 64-66
A few weeks back I received my E-rated Trail Grapplers from Nitto. Not as big as the Duke's but they are still good size at 37 x 11.50R20. The 4 Magnum DRW wheels are coming from American Force in the coming weeks. Excited to see it all together on the Ponderosa.

Hi Randall,
Ponderosa is looking fantastic. Question: Did they weld the wheel outer to the bed side? Thanks, Dan |

Getting started with the bed assembly. My plan is to build the absolute perfect bed. I am totally loving this color. Thanks @cinderellajoe1962 Cinderella Customs and Restoration

Re: The Ponderosa crew cab 64-66
Well, if you haven't been able to tell by now, I'm a big fan of the Nitto Tire Trail Grapplers. I was especially happy to find out that they have a 37 by 8.50 R20 with an E rating. That's the best of every World in my opinion. Next is the American Force Wheels they are mounted on. When they arrived and I opened the boxes, I was absolutely amazed at how heavy duty they are. I am going to be working on center caps for the wheels that will accommodate the need to access the Warn Industries hubs.

Re: The Ponderosa crew cab 64-66
I know, I know. Everybody is absolutely "shocked" that I'm putting a gooseneck hitch on this truck. Yes, I'll be drilling a hole right through that beautiful wood in the bed. Don't worry though, I have great plans for how that'll work out in the be

Re: The Ponderosa crew cab 64-66
Because I did not want to use stainless bolts on painted surfaces, each of the painted carriage bolts had to First go in the lathe and remove all of the stamping on the head of the bolt. After doing 40 of them I took them over to @cinderellajoe1962 for a quick color match. It's these kind of details that must not be overlooked. Each one of these bolts is base coat and clear coated.

Man! All I can say is daaaaaaamn!!! Don't think for a minute that I didn't account for every freaking cubic inch of fuel that I could get, all the while making room for my shocks and my gooseneck hitch.
