If you have any questions about lowering one of these trucks dont hessitate to ask.
Just a heads up on the spindles you need to clean them up and see what they are, if they are stock or aftermarket, because you cant lower a c10 more than 2" in the front on stock spindles because the geometry will be unreconcilable if you do and you wont be able to properly align it, with the spring kit you ordered you need a 2" or if you want to go lower a 2.5" drop spindle to properly reconcile the alignment.
The problem with the fact that you already ordered the 4" drop spring is that since you have to order a minimum of a 2" drop spindle to make them work this will SLAM the front end of your truck and you may have trouble without some modifications.
You also need to see if the rear suspension already has a shock relocator kit on it for proper shock angle and also make sure it has short shocks on it or the rear suspension will suck because you wont get enough piston travel and the shocks will bottom out when you hit a bump.
Good luck!
The 4/6 ECE Drop kit i ordered comes with:

2.5" Drop Spindles, 1.5" Drop Front Coil Springs, 6" Rear Drop Coil Springs, 4 KYB Shock Absorbers, Super Track Bar Kit, Shock Mount Relocator Kit

I agree looks like it will be a good project, on the hood I woulg guess it needed shrinking to make it tight in the middle and PO did not know how so just braced it instead.

Re: Roushinator's 72 C10 Stepside Restore/Build

Tore into it some more yesterday... Had all kinds of leaf crap in the cowl area. Richard stopped by as well.

.

Found a repairable passenger fender, new door sill patch panels and SWB Fleetside bed that i am going to pick up. Getting the New/Used bed because i think it will be less work and more cost effective to use this bed that what i have on there already.

Re: Roushinator's 72 C10 Stepside Restore/Build

[QUOTE=roushinator;5558964]My next question was how as this lowered? Was the lowering done by a kit or backyard modifications? Please excuse the dumb questions but Chevy stuff is new to me...

he used the rebar to reinforce the middle of the hood. I remember when I first bought my truck and drove it home the hood was basically flapping in and out as soon as i passed 20 mph.

Re: Roushinator's 72 C10 Stepside Restore/Build

Well after working on the truck yesterday decided to keep the stepside bed... Got a quote to Acid drip the Cab and it is $750 and then for them to dip it in primer was $725. Soda blasting $500. But someone offered to Soda blast the cab for $200 but i have to haul it to Alabama. So i dont know yet which way i am going to do.

Some more progress. The frame is in in good shape. Rust is minimal but it is caked with dirt.

Re: Roushinator's 72 C10 Stepside Restore/Build

Have not made too much progress. Been working and going out of town but i have collected some parts.

Some patch panels, new steering kit and something for the motor

Picked up a ECE crossmember and trailing arms. The cross member should be here next week it was on back order.

Re: Roushinator's 72 C10 Stepside Restore/Build

This came in yesterday.... ECE cross member. It appears to be well built.

Bought a HD C Notch kit from CPP and it should be here next week. Also found a guy to blast the frame and prime it with and industrial primer. Going to bring it to him next week for that.
