A few quick photos. Still a lot of welding left. Need to flip the frame over to finish the bottom.

They can ride really nicely if designed to do so.

my 10 year old son is going to help me.
so this is my build enjoy it, comment on it, learn from it.
welcome, I have had many mazdas in my time, none on juice.. juice is for breakfast..lol
did you hear Orlie passed away couple of weeks ago? Very sad news.. one of the hydraulic legends..
hydraulics more reliable and higher ride height with it…same height with airride, and you should get easy over 10-15 years out of an airbag. You will never get that out of a cylinder or pump.
if you are set on hydraulics, I won’t say anything to stop you. Yes they can be built to be awesome, reliable, charged as you drive, and fun. But if you want to learn more about airride can definitely answer your questions.
And fyi low riders aren’t dyin out, you’re in NY, it’s a different scene out there, get on a plane with your little man and come out to the west coast, it’s still poppin out here like nobody’s business.

For real though, name is james, good to meet ya.

Re: project "call of duty" 72 c10

so basicly whats left on the frame is to finish the c notch and then flip the frame over and weld the bottom up. i wanted to buy a 4 link but didnt want to spend the money. so i plasma cut off the brackets and moved them out and relocated the trailing arms. used the oem panhard bar and it works great. cantilevered the airbags to get great lift. i am happy on how the build is coming out. yesterday i got a **** ton of goodies. all my front end. tubular uppers and lowers, spindles, rotors all the good stuff.

my goal is to get all welding done then drop frame off to be powder coated, then completly asssemble the frame. then work on the rot in the cab...

Putting the rounded corners in made it tougher, I'll bet.

Re: project "call of duty" 72 c10

all of my rear frame work is almost done.i just need to buy more polishing disks and grinding disks as i tore them all up..

i just wanted to say a few things.....
i know that i didnt use porterbuilt so my **** may not be fancy "yet". so my build may not be as interesting "yet". but i am the type of person that needs to build it my self. its not that i dont have the money but i just cant see spending that kind of money to lay frame. i spent 250 bucks on a sheet of steel and used my imagination. instead of buying a 4link i used what i had, and it will work just as good.
in the end i can say. I BUILT THAT. i also just wanted to show people that you too can build it yourself. i am an old school guy. i have been building cars and trucks for over 20 years. i suck at explaining things and may be boring at times.

please if anyone is reading this give your advice or opinion i would love it.. anyway here is a few more pics..
i am thinking of buying a bender again to do some trick **** like the old days.

Re: project "call of duty" 72 c10

Got almost all frame welding done and smoothed, polished. Flipped it back over to finish the front rad support mounts. Then need to mod the driveshaft carrier. So close to be powder coated. The other day I was walking around my buddy's junk yard for gas tanks. I found this rusted terd to use as a mock up.
It's out of a jeep wrangler 2.5. It's a 15 gal tank perfect for what I need. Once done it will look like it belongs there.
I am putting a ls1 engine in it so the sending unit will be perfect for a f I set up. I will upgrade the pump to a h.o walbro. In like flin. Yea buddy

Hey thanks bro. I greatly appreciate it. I give 100% into all my work. It's a lot harder to build from your head then a set of instructions. Sometimes it doesn't come out quite like I planned but close enough for me. I don't want to stare at it I wanna drive it. Lol
