68 Suburban,
What is the car dolly you used? If you could give me the measurement from inside fender to inside fender.... and the max width from the outside of each front tire..... Currently building on but would like to be positive on width....and yours looks like it has plenty of room.... Great find on the panel.....didn't think there was any in that nice of shape left..

In a previous post, I did state that I bought it off ebay, but I bought it before the auction ended and before the reserve was met. If anyone inquired about what the reserve was on that auction, that is what I paid.

Story of my life. Find exactly what I'm looking for and no money
Unless those interesting trades would include 2 f*rd FWD work trucks that were worked to death... But keep tempting me, and I'll keep working on the wife for funding. |

It is now on Ebay. I figured I would see what happens before I haul it back to Chicago. I drove it 50 miles today and it ran fine.
Sold.

Christopher, that grinding when shifting back onto 1st gear is normal. Normal whan shifting when rolling any way. 68 was the last year on the non-syncro'd first gear 3 speed trannys

For Grinding on a non syncro ,when you stop leave it in a higher gear and then when you are ready to down shift let up the clutch just a hair in in the higher gear to slow the gears down and then bring it right back to first . Double clutching sometimes helps too.

I bought it. I'm pretty excited. I've wanted one for so long-I can't believe it's happening No plans for it yet, other than to park it in the garage and spend a few months deciding how to procede.
