Bummer Dubie. It's a shame our trucks never seem to listen to OUR time schedules. Good luck on the refinish. (maybe just paint the roof to match the rest) It looks Pretty good that way

it does look pretty good like this, if you stand back 20 feet and squint your eyes The main reason for the suede finish in the first place was the coolness factor, but after we laid down a couple coats, it was hiding all the flaws in the body. I am still waiting for the body shop to come out here and look at it so we can decide on how to handle this.

Well, that certainly stinks. But, hey, it could be worse! All your sheet metal still looks straight! Good Luck!

More paint equels less rust !!! Just think of it as undercoating.

thanks for the encouragement guys. I wouldn't actually mind this gloss black if I had enough paint to shoot the entire truck with it ah well, more info to chalk up to the learning experience

Just an update on the paint problemo

The body shop manager just came out to check out the paint and took the can with the mixture ratio on it back to her shop so she can grill the paint company that she ordered from as to why it was gloss and not flat. So I should hear by late today or tomorrow as to what kinda of agreement we will come to on this issue. In the meantime we are gonna work on getting the MUTT running over this Victoria Day long weekend. Hope to have some positive news to share after this weekend

I've heard of people getting a clear coat with some kind of flattening agent to get the suede look, maybe you could go that route and have to resand and paint. Anyways hope things work out what ever you decide to do.
