Ladies and Gents in the NASHVILLE AREA!

I have enjoyed your candid conversations on the board. I can assure you that the producer of this movie will do everything possible to ensure that your truck is taken care of. It really is not used other than it just needs to be on the set in the background. At the most,we might have the actor sitting and opening the door and getting out of the truck. The movie is about 1973 college students who make music that is lost and found twenty years later on college campuses. here is where the truck will be used (http://www.darkhorserecording.com/franklin.html) and you are welcome to be on set the evening your truck is there to make sure no harm is done. As producers of MY CLASSIC CAR (Speed Channel), I think you will find your truck in REALLY GOOD HANDS. Call me at 812-253-4326 if interested and/or email me with details at cdecker@bradleydavid.com. Thanks a bunch, Chad Decker

I'd do it if I had the opportunity-I think it would be cool. I'd probably have to be on the set to observe what was happening with it just to make sure it was taken care of. I'm thinking that it has to be entertaining for Chad Decker to read all of the theories of what may happen with the truck. Good luck to Chad and whoever gets their pickup on the big screen.

Was that your truck in that movie? I've always enjoyed "Lonestar State of Mind" in a wierd sort of way.. always seem to get trapped by it when its on when I'm channel surfing... Of course, I also like wierd movies like "Mystery Men" and "Oh brother Where Art Thou" LOL..... Nice Truck, I think I first started watching the movie for the truck!

If I wasn't so far I would most definately offer up my 1969 truck for the opportunity. I just recently bought this truck and besides the wheels/tires and front bench, it's completely original.

Well actually it was originally sold to a NM Volunteer fire department and spent most of it's years as an ambulance. It has 108K on the clock and running the original 396. It's a great solid survivor and I love it.

TN. is a long way from Dallas/Ft Worth though.

BTW, here is a picture of it. You can't see it in this picture. but the original window sticker from Johnson Chevrolet of Dallas is still on the driverside back glass.

The movie is legit, they were doing auditions for it a month or so ago here on campus. I forget what it's supposed to be about, but they definately are filming a movie set in that time period.

I'll have the '70 here by then, but it'll be my only vehicle at the time (swapping out vehicles for a little bit) and so I couldn't leave it without any other means of transport. Besides, the '70 is a beat up old farm truck and probobly doesn't look just three years old...

The '72 looks brand new, but it has a spray in bedliner, so it might be pushing it as far as originality. It's color keyed thought so looks like the body paint? If it comes to it I can try to pry my brother's truck from him...

Thanks for the compliment guys, Trini, you need to make it over to one of our Driveway sessions. You would be amazed at all the documents that came with this Burb. I even got a copy of the June 8th, 1969 Registration reciept from New Mexico. And it drives like a dream......

Don't know what angle the shot is planned to be from, but if it doesn't show the grill, you could use up to a '72 as the body style is the same and it would be fairly difficult to identify it as being newer than a '69, especially on the lower option (non Cheyenne/Cheyenne Super) pickups. Also, a '70 is nearly identical to a '69-only a slight difference in the grill pattern behind the aluminum shell so that should easily work also, even if the front of the pickup will be shown.

I've heard horror stories about movie crews deciding they didn't like the color of the car so they had the lot boys sand it down and paint it. They sanded everything, paint, chrome, glass. It might be an urban legend, but my dad had a lot of friends who would rent their cars out to movie sets, but only if they were there on the set to watch the car.

the owner of said truck will be allowed on the set during filming (stated above). also already stated was that it's going to be a low-budget film. i'm sure they won't be doing any sort of painting or custom changes to any of the borrowed props.

bump for a cool opportunity!

If it was in here I would volunteer my truck...no matter what they did it would be an inprovement! For the viewers of this film...probably anything from '67-'72 would work. I suspect they would notice the difference between the guitars, amps and speakers before they would notice the difference between a '69 and a '72...LOL! Somebody go for it...it will add value to your truck if you ever go to sell it!

You still looking for a truck? just remembered that a local dominos has a really clean looking 69-70 3/4 ton that's in their parking lot occasionally, if you havn't found one and have a few days left before the deadline I'll try to stop by there if I can.

I also am in the process of PM'ing a Nashville area board member too...

Hope you find something.

If it comes to it, can you go with other makes too? Know a few guys around who might have something from the period, but they don't have appropriate years in chevys.

yes, I still need a truck from that time period

and it does not have to be a chevy..just needs to be Authentic looking from 1967 -1969.Call me at 812-483-1596 tomorrow. I could use the help. We just shot our second day of the film and its been a great start so far. It would be cool for someone to have their truck in a movie I would think...

Let me know how to reach you...Some of the guys in the rock band are from Murfreesboro....thanks, Chad
