This same post comes along from time to time(starters & heat). Here in mid Illinois, we see temps in the 95-100 degree range in the summer. i havent seen the need for a heat sheild on my starters, & havent had any troubles. All it takes is a good battery, good set of cables(mine run from behind the cab to the front), & a good starter. I run headers, & have on d@mn near every toy I have had.....some of the guys in the desert heat might see the need for heat sheilds, or remote solenoids.....but i honestly havent had to use them in my corner of the world. crazyL
