In fact once you guys have finished altering the vin plates why don't you cruise to my area so I can seize your trucks... Cops are alot smarter than you give us credit for... Granted some are not as educated as others on auto theft but I am very skilled in the art...Being a truck and car lover I am more than most... besides you need a special gun to install a roset correctly.. those are sold exclusively and well monitored.... |

I figgered the cops had better things to do than hassle me about removing the VIN plate to weld/paint/patch on my 35 year old truck, here there is no state inspection at all. You can drive anything that will move(even if its just sometimes)! Brian

Guys I'm not getting on you, but just letting you know that alot of us are informed.
It is a federal law and most states have similar laws about altering, obliterating, and removing serial numbers. There are certain legal ways to have a vehicle with the incorrect vin reissued a vin/ serial number. Talking about dumb cops, you know how many times I have seen vin plates installed with double sided tape, glue, the wrong rivets for that make of vehicle, etc. Talk about dumb. You should see some of the things I have.... I know why you guys want the rivets in most cases to reinstall the real vin plate after painting etc, but please check your local laws and procedures first. I love the sport and do not want you guys who are legit to get in trouble for something petty.. |

Sorry I opened the box! I got my link and can put my vin plate back on after the paint job. Needless to say my frame, glove box and vin match. Sorry about all the mental hassle for you guys. Dean@tnchev M G B Y
