Oh man, I never thought my wife (69chevygirl) would post those pics. I'm glad she is interested in the project though. I always wear my shoes in the house except when I enter someone else's home.
There was a time I had both doors and a windshield in our bedroom along with misc. boxes of parts throughout the living room. Mudder, I really like your storage area that doubles as a living room demi |

Nice looking fenders. Can't wait to see the final results. I've never had to work on truck parts in the house, but my wife is very encouraging. Here's some pics of our second son's room. She helped me with it. Shoes in the house? sometimes... Posted before, but seemed appropriate.

I built a VW Beetle engine in the spare bedroom, then Carried out to the garage myself. Dont do that anymore because I have a nice big warm shop to work in . By the way I usually dont wear my shoes in the house, but my wife does.

as for the shoes, I live in a dorm. YOu think I'm going to trust bare or sock-feet with the nastiness you see in a college dorm? yeeeahhh right...The friend whose house I'm going to this saturday for a party always has everyone take off their shoes, and I really don't mind it...unless it's cold and I want a cigarette (no smoking in the house too...and he's a smoker).

Awesome pics....I've done that sort of thing before too As for the shoe thing, I feel uncomfortable if I wear my shoes any farther than the door. I'm not sure why, maybe I'm Canadian or Japanese at heart?

added pics
Here's a couple of the cab with the fenders hung. The color change is more noticable in these shots. I'll post more of the assembly when I get some better pics.
Thanks for the nice comments. You got a very sweet 72 there Mountain Man. I've always liked that shade of blue. That is an awesome bedroom, Stryker67. demi Last edited by demi; 10-26-2004 at 11:56 PM. |

I wear shoes in the house if there not wet. (snowy part of the planet), and even more now that I have kids.. Stepping on a lego, or toy soldier in bare feet is a real b**ch. And I used to install carpets. The guys that trained me said oil& sweat from feet stained carpets.. maybe if they took a shower occasionaly that might not have been so much of an issue. Anyways. Nice fender BTW..That was what got this thread started, wasn't it?

I wear mine if i'm going in or out alot, but if i'm in for more than a few minutes they go off. Gotta love walking around in socks
And at school i too live in the dorms. So they are off when i'm in my room, usually on if i go anyway. NEVER go in a dorm bathroom without some kind of foot protection....i've got shower flip-flops. God only knows what has been done in there. Can't be too careful

I love the blue & white trucks the most. My father had a '72 he bought in '74 that was a bit darker blue with a white roof. I also like the lime green / white trucks.
Does anyone know why people stopped putting there names on the side of there trucks just behind the cab on the front part of the bed? I remember that was one of the first things dad did to his when he got it.

It's funny though,go to a house party and all you see at the door are a mess of shoes!
I went to a party with new runners once...at the end of the night I was leaving in my socks.Somebody must have liked my shiney new runners. I got what looks to be the same exact ugly purple plad couch as you.Is yours a hide-a-bed too? Years ago I tried to rebiuild my engine in my house,my Mom put an end to that pretty quick. Funny thing is while I had the eng. in my arms(4cyl 1.4L eng.)I stopped and took off my boots before I took the eng. into the basement.
