Here are the panhard mount brackets.
Notice the 3/4 ton is much heavier duty and wraps up the side of the frame rail rather than just being underneath it like the 1/2 ton.

Here is the real meat and taters of the whole deal though.
The 3/4 ton frame has a long doubler riveted to the bottom frame rail web to strengthen it. The 1/2 ton has a short doubler, no where near as substantial or long as this one.

There is no doubler on my one ton dually maybe it is only on coil spring trucks that are 3/4 ton . coils like air bags isolate the load to that area were the doubler is. Leafs displace the load to 4 points.

Neither one of my duallys has the doubler either. I'm pretty sure it's just a 3/4 ton coil spring thing.
I posted the pictures because lots of folks think the 1/2 and 3/4 ton frames are the same, it's just the suspension itself that's heavier, when it appears, the frame is beefed up too.

I knew some of the brackets were slightly different, but I never realized that the doublers were longer. Great info to know.

Interesting, TxFf. If I ever wanted to convert a 2wd 67-72 GM truck into a 4x4 with coils all around, I'd start with a 3/4 ton 2wd for the frame strength factor.
