Wynne,
Boy that thing looks good, I'm looking forward to seeing it tonight, Kevin will be here too. We are going to try and shoehorn it in my shop, if not we will take it to Kevin's as there is bad weather headed this way tonight. I should probably make another post but am hoping someone will have a good fleetside tailgate at Pate. If anyone going to Pate has a line on a good one please PM me. Also looking for any other goodies, tach stuff, a core support and any other interesting big block stuff. I am taking a few things (bumpers/brackets, tilt column) to sell but mostly am buying. We are headed that way Wednesday morning. See you tonight Wynne.

Yeah, the best deals are usually had Thursday because it's the first day and it hasn't been picked over yet (and the place is packed). By Saturday you get a lot of people that had to work Thursday and Friday showing up, but the rare stuff is about gone. The thing is you can usually get what's left a lot cheaper by Saturday afternoon. Most people don't want to take it home with them. Don't get me wrong there is still plenty to see on Saturday and all of the repop vendors are still there. If you can though, you really need to get there Thursday or even Friday; most of the vendors take off work to be at this thing. Everyone is usually gone by mid morning Sunday. It's just like anywhere else, whoever has the money first get's the goods.

The mother in law lives in Dallas so we are heading up ASAP Fri Night and coming home Sun afternoon. The kids get to see grandma all weekend and I don't have to! Lucky me.

I know for sure Cheynne pickup parts because I called them the other day to see, usually H&H is there as well as Kenny's trucks, Obselete chevy, Classic chevy out of OK, Outback truck parts and I've seen the Truck shop from California there too. In the old days Golden State would be there too. Plenty of truck part vendors are allways there, I know I'm forgetting some. Kenny has allways given me the best deals there. Great thing is no shipping.

Well, I went out there today. There doesn't seem to be nearly as many people selling stuff as last year, a lot of empty spaces. I expect that more will probably show up tomorrow and Saturday.

I did see a lot of the same people that have been there for years still trying to sell the same overpriced junk for 3 times what it's worth. You'd think they would get tired of hauling it around and price it so that it might actually sell?

I even saw that idiot from Lone Oak out there trying to sell his chrome plated rusted parts, but I didn't see anybody buying anything from him.

Well, I bought something from him . I was walking by his booth, and noticed some 72 BB engine stands in front of his table, so I stopped to look. I didn't realize who he was at the time, but there were 2 sets of later style engine stands sitting right next to the 72 stands. I asked how much, pointing to the 72 mounts, and he said $50 ! , but only for the ones I pointed out. The other ones,(73 up style), he said gets $150 for on ebay! I didn't even argue, I just paid him & walked away. We all had a good laugh when we figured out who he was. I had a great time. GSFMECH & 65streetcruiser had my truck practically sold before I even got there, I sold the truck, a bunch of parts, talked trucks all weekend, and got some great deals. I may have to make it an annual event.

Found a set of 68 hubcaps, silver paint, black trim, red bowtie - for $10, not perfect, but decent shape. A million times better than the ones I have on there now,

We had walked almost the entire place before I found 'em and I had just said I was done. After that, we finshed walking every aisle, looking for any more great deals for my old farm truck.

Bought some small stuff at Outback Truck Parts. They are out of Spring, TX and had good prices.
