Dang Dave, sorry to hear about that!

Cops can't take prints off the outside of the vehicle. It's an easy defense, they just have to say "I walked by the truck yesterday and was leaning on it looking in the window". Same thing happened when my truck was broken into, perfect greasy prints on the back & side glass.

I've got a side vent window, but I think its driver's side. I'll check tonight.

damn Dave that just sucks. I hate to hear anyone getting their stuff broken into stolen etc. It's happened to me a couple time luckily they didn't get much stuff. But like you said are getting a great deal on the selling of the truck once all said and done. Hopefully it will get finished soon and you can get the divorce finished up and start a new chapter in your life

Could have been much worse if I had not pulled out my big amp and other amp and rear subs with the box. Otherwise it would have doubled that amount easily. If they actually got the truck..OH HELL I dont even wanna think about that headache.

Damn Dave. Is nothing safe anymore?

There might be a couple things in this world I hate worse than thieves, well no, there is nothing I hate worse than thieves. They rank right up there with murderers IMO. It really pisses me off when punks think they have a right to take other folks stuff. I know now a days it's mostly caused by drugs, but I still think they need to hang the bastards.

Hope everything ends up on the good side for you.

Man that really sucks.

Maybe this story will lift your spirits a little, it's almost not believable but it really happened to me.

A few years ago my '96 s-10 that I never should have sold got keyed at a party. While it was at the body shop being fixed I was driving a '77 nova my dad got for a hundred bucks. I was leaving a friend's house at about 4:15 in the morning and my truck drives by in front of me. At first I thought maybe someone from the shop was cruising it around since I was real close the body shop. I jumped in the nova and took off after him, but he had made a u-turn and was coming back toward me. I flashed my lights and went across the line to block him but I didn't want to hit my own truck. He cruised by real slow and I got a real good look at him - it was some greasy looking sleazebag that looked half drunk. He gunned it and I made a u-turn and took off after him. I called the cops on my cell phone and told them what was going on, what streets we were taking. He was trying to lose me in residential areas and almost did since the s-10 had a v-6 and was pretty quick and the nova had a tired 305 in it. I barely saw him turn onto the main street out of town and by the time I got there he was out of sight. Then the cops caught up to me and flew by. I was thinking my truck was a goner, but then the dispatcher on the phone said they had a possible ID at a bar I'd already passed. I turned around and went back and my truck was there with the door still open and a bunch of cop cars already there. I pulled in and told the cops who I was, and then about 15 minutes later they said they picked some guy up and wanted to see if I could identify him. I rode down there with a cop and sure enough, they had the guy that stole my truck. The guy ended up getting a few years in jail, and every once in a while I got a check from the state for anywhere from $2.50 to $20 or so because the investigators asked if there was any damage to the truck and I told them I wanted to get my door locks and ignition switch replaced since the guy chucked my keys somewhere. There wasn't any damage to the truck other than some spilled beer from driving around all crazy. The guy had rifled through everything but nothing was missing and I had taken anything with value out of the truck that wasn't bolted down. I guess the guy just broke the lock on the gate at the shop and they leave the keys on top of the visor, so it was simple to steal it. I just wish I could have gotten ahold of him first so I could beat him to a bloody pulp before the cops got there.

Anyhow, that's my story, hope it cheers you up a little.
Ben
