strange hesitation

I have heard that random stalls and slight to severe hesitation can be caused by the Throttle Position Sensor. Being TBI mine was located on the passenger side of the TBI, held on by 2 Torx screws and the wire connector. $22 at Advanced Auto and hasn't given me a fit since then. Also it did NOT give a TPS sensor code, doesn't give ANY codes at all. So I guess everything else should be ok... but still need to replace the thermostat, upper radiator hose, oil change and fuel filter change.
I also use name brand oil filters so never had that problem, even on cold days (well mid 20s).

You know, this really has me thinking. I've had a random stalling issue for a year or so with my 87. I thought I had it traced down to a worn distributor (the shaft has some play in it), but reading all these posts about the TPS makes me think I should try that out. For $22 what do I have to lose?

Hi to all, well the Suburban is in the shop, get it back soon. Just a little tune up. Rotor, spark plug's -n- wire's, dist.cap. Then to the thing's I can do like chang the oil (ha ha) I can do that.

Well I just got it back, and it seem's to run find. I still need to get on the highway and get in the 50-60 mph zone. So I can see if it still has the Hesitation or not, I do know I have a damm good mechanic. When't thourgh a few before I was told about him. Well he said the ( Distibuter cap and roter were worn kind of bad ) and new plugs n wire's. new wiper blade's, and a full tank of gas. I was standing there wail.

Anyway he also said that the motor mount's are worn, not that they need replacing now but something to think about down the road. Also thinking about shocks. So that what's going on at 91 SUBURBAN LANE]

Well I got on the highway and liked it alot, ran good no more hesitation. Hope to get the oil changed soon, and stop the dry start. I don't like the way it sounds at start up.

after some time now I noticed that right at 50mph it does still have it so I am thinking the distributor also needs work.. but 99% of the problem is fixed...
