I will bend up a couple and see what kind of 'fundage' it would actually take (mostly just labor) and put them on the parts board when they are ready.

I will be installing my led strip either flush or frenched. I think Frenched would be SICK, so I might go that way.

I don't have a rear bumper on my '69 stepside and had no trouble with inspection for the 4+ years I was there. I checked RMV's web site and didn't see anything that indicates they're required either. Have you looked for another inspection station??

Putter, looks like good work. I like the way it integrates into the fenders... but it does seem a little small to me (makes the license plate just hang down below it). Makes a great option for those who perfer the smaller, completely flush look.

Thank you to all for your comments. I was just bored one say and thought it would look pretty cool. I am very happy that I have come up with something that sparks interest with the truck community.
As far as the comment that XXL made regarding the small size, I can't make it any bigger, because it would interfere with the bed. It almost touches the bottom of the bed now, and to make it hang any lower would force it to ignore the fender curves. The only other way to get the license plate to actually fit is to have it start at the fender lines and angle down as a slight "V" shape (like seen on early S-10 blazers).
I checked on a machine to actually 'roll' the metal for me into the correct shape, and it turns out to be only $600 (+tax). It would make the proper curve, break the top edges, shear it off at the proper length, etc.... I might invest in one of those after we finish the house & shop, but for now, I will have to do it the old fashioned way....by hand. Doing it by hand is just slower. I could put out 10 or more of those with the machine per day, but by hand...not even close.
If I were to sell these to someone, (67-72 only right now until I get a pattern for the others) they would run about $100-$125 each. Way better than the Sir Michael's price of $288. Basically, they would come just like mine. License box built in and shot with some color primer. Later on, I would be able to offer them with or without the license box. I can make the license box larger or smaller if needed. I guess we can take it one day at a time and see what happens. I will make up a couple in the next week or so and offer them for sale on the parts board (and a personal invitation to Special-K). I want to keep my "great guy to deal with" reputation, so if someone buys one and doesn't like it, I will take it back with no ill-feelings.
