This rain tracker. How hard was it to install and how long did it take you? Will this work or the '67-'87 trucks?

Per GM Shop Manual; the heater blower specs are:- RPM- 2550 to 2950; 13.5 volts @ 6.25 amps max. Air conditioning blower specs are:- RPM- 3700 min.; 15.5 amps max.....As these specs indicate; the blower used with air conditioning is much more powerful. Fuses used with heater only is 15 amp.; air cond. is 25 amp. Marine standards allow 14 guage wiring for non-critical loads of 20 amps at a distance of 10 feet or less. Wiring diagrams show # 12 wire from fuse block to blower motor relay and from the relay to the blower used with trucks with air conditioning, however I have seen # 12 wiring on non air trucks. In any case; replace the existing heater fuse with 20 amp. and the wiring will have no problem sustaining the extra load of the heavy duty blower motor. Be sure sure to examine the wiring for any fraying and replace. If replacement is desired; use # 12 wire from fuse block to relay and from relay to blower motor. Using #12 wire will minimize voltage drop for more efficient blower operation.

I just went out to the parking lot and fixed my heater!! Well fixed is a little strong, the plug in from the blower was undone. BTW I checked the fuse box first and mine's got a 25 amp fuse in it already. It's marked on the box for 25, and it's a non ac. Anyway, I've got heat and it might even defrost the windshield now!!

It should be able to work
The method of operation is pretty straight forward. If I can get a copy of the schematice for our trucks, I'll make a diagram and post it for all to use.
I LOVE how it works on my Neon - all you do is flip a switch and it will wipe as much, or as little as needed. It automatically varies the wiper speed from slow puled wipes, to faster pulsed wipes, then to constant low speed and to constant high speed - all depending on how much water it senses on the windshield. One thing though; it needs to be placed within only ONE wipe pattern - preferably the passenger side near the center mirror - and also 2" inside the arc of the wiper tip. I love it and will install it as soon as I can get a vehicle schematic to work out the interface.

sure it can , as long as I can get ahold of the wiper schematic for 67-72 chev trucks, I can make a wiring diagram.
Does anyone have a schematic of the truck wiring?
