Here is a pic of the tabs, still welded to the cut out section of the floor. Spot welds mean just that, spot welds here and there. These have welded seams and all three sides (front and back...six total per tab)...so cutting them out or grinding away the welds is the only way to get em out.

I think I'll put together a bucket seat info article in the garage section on 73-87.com in the very near future. I think it would make answering these questions a whole lot easier.
Joe, care if I use your Suburban bracket info?

I will have to tell my wife about this. I think this might be the second time in my 62 years that I might have been wrong about something.

N2TRUX, Thank you. I guess I just lost my head for just a moment. She would never let me live it down. I do think I must have been mistaken about being wrong. You might have saved me. Thanks again. I could hear her now-

OK, I threw together a article for 73-87.com. It is not published yet, and not quite finished. What I need are a few pictures of the different seats (low and high back) as well as the consoles (cup holder and seatbelt versions). ALso, if anyone has any suggestions on how to make the article better or more accurate...I am listening.
Can anybody help out?? Here is the link to the article. Once finished (and published), the link will still be the same. http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/inte...ry_buckets.htm

Those are all parts that Jeff bought used, cleaned up and painted. You can buy them, but they won't be brand new...
Jeff: You should mention the change in center consoles in 1981 when they changed to the newer style. Also, it's worth mentioning that the blazer passenger seat flipped up and the pickup passenger seat had brackets to mount it to the floor and didn't move.

Joe, got those two things added to the article.
I still need a pic of an early console and a 81+ unit. Also, I need pics of low and high back buckets...hopefully from a similar angle. Can anyone help?

Jeff have you considered using the pics from the brochures? They aren't quit as clear as the real thing, but not bad either....

I'm buying the ones Don has. They are the low back. Don is also getting me the brackets. Do you think I will have any trouble installing these in my '86? They are now blue and will have them recovered in black plus clean up the hardware and paint. Any suggestions on installing these? Any would be greatly appreciated. I have put in bucket seats in "55-'57 Chevys cars but this is not the same.
