I'd say a 67 small rear window or 68. One thing I'd do for sure is get a cab with factory air, welcome to the board. Doug

Rickstrucks any wear near So. Cal. would be good but it can be In the Arizona area too. Also need more to respond on what interior, and drive train you all would like to see such as stick or auto or split bench or buckets hotrod sleeper or full out tricked custom not choptop or suicde doors but lost of custom work. all resposes will be looked at closely.

Welcome to the board from Kentucky. Am I the only one who loves the '69-'70?

J/K, actually I have bought several parts from a guy in my area that only likes the 69/70. He has converted his last two projects from 71/72 to 69 clips. |

Since it looks like anyone can put their .02 cents in, I'd go with either a GMC from '67 to '72, or use a '69-'70 Chevy front clip. I'd leave the cab stock looking and not hack anything up.................As for Chassis, whether 4x2 or 4x4 I'd put a Cummins Turbo Diesel in it, NV5600 6 spd, and a GV OD
Of-Course I am a Cummins nut

Body style-2wd
I'de favore the SWB 67 or possibly a 71-72 with a 67-68 hood (One of my favorites mods and you don't see it often). Overall style It needs to be drivable not a trailer queen or strip only. A little street rod mixed with a little pro street. Use pro street big n little tire combination but using updated 17 or 18 inch wheel diameter. Aggressive stance of course. Shaved drip rails, marker lights and trim. Drivetrain Built and stroked LS1 427cid mated to a six speed manual. Or auto with a Gearvendor overdrive. Powerful and light. Interior Suprise me!!! I'm not crazy about the stock dash but I've yet to see a full custom dash in these trucks that I like any better. Bucket or bench I like em both covered in leather.

I like the 69-70 (yes shifty, I know I have a 71 hehe) it has the agressive hood that is raised sharply at the front like the 71, but the grill has a large bar across it as opposed to the honeycomb look. I think the 67-68s look too much like the small trucks of a couple yrs later, the slope of the hood and teh cone make it look smaller to me. O yea, and if you are looking for one to completely rebuild top down, I am sure i can find one as long as I get it back when your done lol.

For a drive train/suspension ...
3/5 drop, 2wd and even though arguments can be made -- nothing tops a big nasty rat motor in a pickup.

I agree a 2wd Blazer would be cool. Are you definitely set on a truck as opposed to a Blazer?

67 chevy stepside. 17" torque thrust II rims. 3/4 drop. LS1 with a WS6 and 3.73 posi out back. Power disk brakes and power steering. A/C and a killer stereo. Maui blue with white '69 camaro style stipes.... oh wait, that's how I'd build MY truck Any 67-72 chevy with cool mods will apease most people. Your not going to please everyone. As long as you don't put 24's on it and do a cable version of "pimp my ride" to it, most guys here would like it. And if your thinking about doing a version of "overhaulin" my truck can be found in lexington, Sc..... I'll pretend to look surprised

67 is my favorite. I like the front end sheetmetal best and the fact that is has no side marker lights. Shortbed, fleetside or stepside. Definitely with a wooden bed. And maybe you're on this track, but don't do the 1,000,000th buildup of a small block, how about a six cylinder just to be different.

Doesn't matter as long as its 67-72 Chevy or GMC as long as you show it all at once, start to finish, no B.S.ing around making us wait forever and a day. Good luck, Jeff.
