The control module in an HEI can go bad with no warning. Sounds like that may be the problem.
What I got done was had a birthday party for my big 4 0. Also revented my fuel tank from 1/4 inch vent to 5/8 vent. I can actually put gas in the truck now without very slowly nursing in the gas. I also retightened the lug nuts and greased the front end. I also started wiring the headlight relays. Then I gazed loving under the hood for some wires to hide or something to work on that does not involve pulling the engine, trans, and/or cutting holes in the truck with a torch.

Bought a 4wd frame and rear suspension...... (I have a 69 3/4 ton LB, I want a 1/2 ton SB truck, but chopping the frame scares me to death)
Got a ton of work to do, but we got it cleaned up... somewhat... I need help with lowering a leaf-spring rear, or some info on changing the cross members and trailing arms to go to coils) as the truck I'm building has coils in the back..... |

since my truck is a mutt, like most of our trucks ... The engine is a '74 350 and the HEI is an add-on. What do I need to take with me to the moron academy (auto parts store) to get the right part for my dizzy? I don't think there is anyone there who could figure it out (took two tries to get the right brakes for my Pontiac and it's stock!) lol Should I just ask for the module for a 76 C-20 w/350 4bbl?

I've got an old riding lawnmower I decided I am gonna paint it to match my truck. Hawaiian Blue/white. Pulled off the tin, stripped em and welded up the cracks (good practice and no one is the guiney pig). Next weekend the chassis and maybe color!
