As for the color, its simply called Metallic Orange from an 04 Chevy. I'll try to post some pics of the engine compartment and anything else any of you request when I get back in town on the weekend.

Sweet truck! That color is awesome! I would also love to see some pics of the motor and intertior. As a fellow white mountain man (born and raised in Show Low) I love the 4x4.

Re: Finally done!...almost

Very nice. I bet you are very proud of your work, and deservedly so. Although I prefer a "factory" look, I am so in awe of those of you who can "create" when it comes to paint/body work etc. And finishing a project is really the main point here. How many guys out there have taken apart perfectly good trucks w/huge plans to 'restore' them and all they wind up with is a pile of parts sitting out in the rain or taking up space in the garage so the brand new car can sit out in the rain!!!

Keep it nice and no sloggin thru the mud or snow w/that thing!!

Jim

Nice job. Looks great. When the urge hits to circulate the transfer case. Just keep a set of wheels and tires on hand. Those won't do it off road. 4x4's are ment to use. You can play around in fields and not have to hit the trails. Enjoy.

Re: Finally done!...almost

I like the 20's myself. I have a set on my 05 Yukon XL 4X4 and a set on my 2wd 90 454 SS. I found it easy to find truck treaded tires in 20's as long as you are willing to spend the money (about $300 a tire) and you have room for 33-35X12.5-15X20 so as you can see these tires are not for the weak at heart. I am putting the Michelin MTX M+S tire in a 285/55/20 for about $200 a tire. I'd go with a 33X12.50X20 if I had a lift on the Yukon as the tires want to rub. I just moved to Hopi land from Show Low and as often as it snows there the tires you have will work fine, but if you wanted a little lift and a bigger sidewall and you could be into some nice aggressive tread from BFG or even NITTO as well as Pro Comp. I plan to put 20's on 72 Blazer with the bigger profile tires. They look good and with the right tire they look better than a 15-16 inch wheel with a ton of sidewall. They also perform better as they do not have that sidwall flex that makes the truck feel loose on turns and at high speeds. My 2 cents, and besides unless someone is paying to have my junk built there mouth is just moving but they aren't saying anything. 20's 22's 24' whatever floats your boat do it and ignore the naysayers, its not about bling its about personality, and 15-16 in wheels lack personality and originality for that matter because the ralley is everywhere as well as the mod, slots, and most every other small wheel just look at the picts of these trucks and you will see that 20's are different and that is good, IMO.

Roof drip rail is silver on the top, and orange on the bottom.

Thumbs up Re: Finally done!...almost

sweet looking ride. i'm not a fan of the "bling, bling" rims but hey, my name ain't on the pink slip as long as you built it to make "you" happy, it's alright by me. nice job, NOW, let's see moooorrreee pictures, dammit.
by the way, if you did all that in a year, my hat is definitly off to you. WOW. i've had one of my 72's for nearly 10 years and i'm still gathering parts and pieces.

Yeah, too bad that look caught on, IMO. The big rims on 4X4, I mean.

Re: Finally done!...almost

wow this one is back from the dead, but I never saw it, so I appreciate it. When I first looked at it I thought eh..... not a lot of envy. But for some reason I kept scrolling up to it back and forth reading responses and though its not my style at all, I think it kind of works. Props for doing somethin different
