Re: Need advice, part it or fix it up? 71 swb GMC Ochre

FYI, I paid WAY MORE than you paid for that truck than the 1st truck that started me in this "hobby" which was in need of both rockers, both cab corners, complete bed and doors (the only thing salvageble thing was the motor and tranny) I also bought a "parts truck" that somehow managed to legally title and drove out of state constantly and when I sold it I got well my money back. Just my .02$

I'm saying, keep it, it woukd be worthy as a beater at least if you dont want to part it out.

Re: Need advice, part it or fix it up? 71 swb GMC Ochre

Tattoo, that's one good thing, there's never been any body or paint work at all on this truck, so anything I fix isn't hampered by previous repairs.

A buddy said he has a 350 and trans I can get for $200.00, it's looking like it may become a beater...

Thanks, Rg

I have it on good authority that it will be about 20 years of bad luck if part an Ochre truck
so very TRUE!

I wish I had it. If you do part it I would like the radio delete plate just for sentimental reasons. That, and the fact that I am planning to sell my AM/FM in the future.

I say save it. Guys on the board are fixing worst ones than that. That one is a good clean start.
