Re: filling all of the extra holes in the frame?
hey guys,
well it's been a busy few days but i finaly got some new pics to show you. have also decided to paint rather than powder coat my frame so i can make sure it's silky smooth and like a mirror when i'm done. update pictures what i did this evening. someone please tell me how to grind down welds without creating waves in the steel please!! thankfully i had planned on using some filler on this peice anyway. last but not least this is why i didin't update this earlyer. this is a chrysler without the dash. note the leg room =). it seems as if chrysler decided to hide there electronic heater control motors under and behind everything so 6 hrs later and a major head rush i had the 2 hidden ones out. FUNNNNNNN |

Re: filling all of the extra holes in the frame?
Yea thats looking good.
I wanted to mention this sicne I have a few friends in the powder coating biz. Theres a place in California and I'm sure a few others scattered over the states that do UV powder coatings. It uses UV light for the bonding process, you can even have plastic powder coated.

Re: filling all of the extra holes in the frame?
hey guys,
a little update here. well about 9 days ago now my grinder bit me so i really couldn't get much done with stiches and what not. anyway i got a couple little things done last night so i'll post pictures tommarow. currently i'm waiting on roloc's so i can get inside the framerails so i'm cleaning up the lines on my trailing arms instead. anyone got advice on making the ugly factory spot welds look better? ondrew |

Re: filling all of the extra holes in the frame?
Why not box the trailing arms ? That would make em look smooth ......

Re: filling all of the extra holes in the frame?
wow it's bee a long time since i've updated this.
well i finaly got to work on it again after my sur-kut disks showed up. it's too bad it took 4 months to get them. anyway i worked on it for 8 hours yesterday and it's looking awsome! hopefully today i'll finish it. i can't wait to get some color on this dam thing. i've only spent upwards of 250hrs doing frame/suspention smoothing. when it's done it will look like a show peice though. i can't wait. ondrew |

lol i would but i think at this point my father would kill me. i've been working on it for way too long as it is. besides if i really had it my way the entire frame would be a one off box rail polished aluminum or stainless steel. =) ondrew p.s. i'm going to work on it now. i'll have pictures tonight. |

Re: filling all of the extra holes in the frame?
i have pictures yay =)
ok so i decided that i would do a practice run on the exaust passages on my t-arm crossmember. i took lots of pictures and wrote a "how to". you can find that here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...56#post1720456 i also took a picture of the cheapest yet most usefull tool i have used so far in this project. it is a peice of copper pipe folded over and flatend. this was used as a backing while i filled in most of the holes in the frame. it really made for less work as i didin't have to do a lot of grinding inside the frame rails. and last but not least i picked up little somethin somethin for the next step.
