Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
Purchased the truck many years ago for $6900.00
drove it for numerous years priceless GM motor $1100.00 dollars complete paint job--$3000.00 two years later replace bedsides and paint them--$1200.00 Wild idea to build a 383 stroker motor--- $2800.00 updated transmission-- $1500.00 Flamed the paint on the front---$2000.00 WELD wheels Power Tour price---$1100.00 needed to rebuild the 383 due to a bad internal part--$5000.00 updated the tranny to handle the new horsepower $3000.00 Hard tonneau cover--$800.00 Rhino lining on bed $400.00 Must not forget the bare essentials (tires and the like) --- $2000.00 There are many other things, but this kinda covers the largest of it. STILL OWN IT and drive it. Last edited by piecesparts; 11-10-2005 at 12:19 PM. |

I'm scared to add mine up right now. If I new exactly what I had into it already, I would never be able to finish it.

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
I paid $4,950 for my Truck back in 01 since then i've probably put only about $500 in it for tune-ups/ General maintenance, plus $400 for a new windshield courtesy of a Wyoming summer Hailstorm . Still need to get the dents popped out of the hood, left front fender, left door, and Cab roof. Only time i've almost cried over a vehicle.

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
I got really lucky, mine was the first one I put a bid down on (ebay). I had been watching close for a little better than a year. Color, tranny and 1/2 ton were all very important to me. I found mine with an opening bid of I think $1000? Watched it until the final second, I could tell by the counter that there were a few of us waiting for the opportune moment to bid. I threw down 1 bid for $4500 and got the truck for just over $2500!
If you don't count my airfare to pick it up and gas to bring it home, my total investment to date is likely around $5000. Imagine that I almost would have paid that for it??? I am so far in the hole on all my other vehicles that I deserve this one. Last edited by Jebb1978; 11-10-2005 at 11:24 PM. |

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
In my current project?? OUCH Well the truck was $2800. Wheels and tires about $3800 Engine which is yet to be installed and more money to go to complete $6000. Transmission $1800 It will take another $1000 to complete the tranny. Suspension mods including coilovers, springs spindles, rearend etc. $2100. Im sure there is more but I hate to think about it!! All this since March of 05 when I bought the truck.
