Reading an issue of Classic Trucks several months ago, they showed the installation of one that requires modifying the ashtray. They got their from Brothers. So, I went to the Brothers website, and it's like $80!! Nice to see that others on the Board, have it for less.

I think that Year One has a different one, that comes in colors to match the interior. It slides into the ashtray guides and it's cheaper than the one that requires rebuilding the ashtray.

I bought one from a street rod shop that is machined from billet aluminum and mounts beneath the dash. I gotta get some beveled "washers" to allow it to stay level, when installed.

No room for a floor mounted center console in a 4x4.

I was thinking F@#* Taurus cup holder but I see bouncytruck already thought that through. And I'm not a dash cutter.

I like farside847's solution. If I remember correctly that was 67 buddy seat brackets on the floor, 69-72 buckets on the sides, with a fabbed buddy seat middle.

What happened to that "chug-n-plug" thing people were buying a few years ago. Is that still available?

I dont think the ash tray conversion works well for Mega drinks of today. You may want to check with Bouncy.

O yea, and if I know I will be out all day workin in the truck I will grab an extra shoe (work boots are the best) and set it next to me, it works like a champ.

I've been using this one ,but don't use the stock radio or the heater much .

The ash-tray conversions won't hold anything much larger than a pop can. Flimsy sided cups with bottoms that aren't flat could be an issue too. I also have one of the "octopus" cup holders sitting on the floor right by the 4wd shifter to hold larger cups and my morning coffee.

I saw these there but they do look like they would interfere with the heater controls. They run about $30 Pics from year one's site:

Yes; that is it got it from another vendor ,and the do interfere with the controls .Lucky I live in SoCal rarly use the heater .

Right now I have some cheap saddle blanket seat covers on my ol' tore up bench. I just tuck my beverage of choice in the pouch next to me and I'm good to go. Fits any size from a soda can all the way up to a big gulp. Although I'm screwed once I install the buckets I just got. Looks like I'll be takin the ash tray route too.

had the same problem. for about twice the price i just picked up a new seat with integrated (removable) drink holder. new seat (at the time) from a '98 or so ford pickup, from a place that installed aftermarket seats.

i still haven't gotten that thing properly reupholstered to match. but it's on the list.

I plan to build a small unit like Pickmup showed in the red truck. I will build it to accept the console cup holder base like the one used in my 02 Sierra, which is the right size for cans or the big cups.
