Re: Still looking for good cab in Missouri

pics of 69 cab I got some rust on top of drivers rocker, see pic, one spot on pass side undereath door sill plate, size of nickel or so. dash is hacked, see pic. Some dents on back of cab, a couple are kind of big, but I think fixable, easier than messing with rust. NO rot in floorboards just surface rust, NO rust in firewall or roof. NO rust in mounts underneath. High hump cab, has a pto shifter in pass floorboard. NO title. $250. Thanks Randy

Re: Still looking for good cab in Missouri

last one, the small rust spot is underneath, right where the lip of rocker mounts to cab. I personally think the only real work you'd have is dents on back of cab and dash where its hacked, the 2 rust spots are basically the rockers. Thanks Randy

Cab looks good except for the dash. How would I fix that? Replace the complete dash? How tough is that? Is the windshield any good? thanks

Personally, I cut mine out along the slots (under dash pad) and behind the gauges and behind the glovebox door. That way, all welds are hidden (which isn't an issue if you weld worth a flip.)

Re: Still looking for good cab in Missouri

I just cut out a complete dash from under the windshield. Its looks fairly easy to drill out the old spot welds and reweld the new one in.

Just curious. RShaips, did/are you buying that cab from teeitup? If not I'd like to get in line for it. (Or another if you have one teeitup).

Post up some pics when ya get it.
I'd like to have one that's "unmolested" but wouldn't we all...
If they did a good job on the rockers though I might be interested.

I still need a bed floor for a long bed too. Would ya have one of those? Doesn't have to be show quality by any means just solid. The one I have has a gaping hole in it, (measured in feet not inches!).

1. you'd want more with the doors, and won't separate?
2. you're selling them separately?

4. none of they above, I'm shipping them to DTerry at no cost?
c'mon please pick number 4!!!

justascatch, Did you have a thread about these cabs? I think I remember it if it was you. I'll do a search. I might be coming down to Tulsa anyway.

Do you have any pics? That's a long drive for an unseen cab.
Bed floor, I need the long bed.

My email is tbaker@nemr.net if you need it to send pics.

Re: Still looking for good cab in Missouri

A long drive for what you're looking for ? And you live in MO ? I have several MN, IA, MI people drive every month to see and buy from me, but the board members want 45 pics, 3yr-36,000 mile warranty and sleep with my wife !!! The $ 150 cabs are gone...I part 5-10 67-72 trucks a month, sell in bulk and try to help board members when I can. I just got tired of the "still looking for a good cab" ...sorry, RShaips

Yea, OKC is a pretty long drive for something I have no way of know what I'm getting.
Right at 630 miles to be exact.
Let me see round trip 1260 miles, 15mpg, = 84 gallons of fuel, $2.20 a gal, (here), = $184.80
Now if you're going to reimburse me for fuel if I don't find a cab that suits me when I get there, I can leave tomorrow. Otherwise I'd like to see some pics.
No I don't want 45 pics, I don't expect a warranty, and I don't want to sleep with your wife. Just a few pics of the normal probalem areas would be enough. A digital camera can be bought for about 15 bucks nowdays. That shouldn't be to big of a deal.

BTW, threads on these message boards are like channels on a TV, if ya get tired of looking at it, change the channel.

teeitup, let me know when you get that cab in.

Re: Still looking for good cab in Missouri

454, obviously you remember what you want out of my previous posts. Not one item sold to anyone out of the state of OKLA except CADIAC (KS), yet I see all these people say how bad rust is up North, but none combining resources and coming to where the good stuff is. Change the channel ? Give up ? Not my style. The customers I have ALL responded to newspaper ads I placed in OK. A proactive approach, (and a costly one for their neighbors when the parts are back home). Cabs for $ 150 to my fellow board members...pics sent...promises made..nothing sold !! e-bay item 4612465886 currently, look and tell me why SOMEONE on the board doesn't want it. Boys up North need to take a road trip (six beds on a 18' trailer... $ expenses divided by 3 or 4...hmmm, that's all I'm saying. Oh, and thanks for the lecture.

Well, post a pic and I might change my mind on that too!

I think you explained it pretty well yourself. Only one out of state sale! A good cab to you southern folk is probably fairly common. You'll find very few up here so us northerners like to see before we buy/travel.

I do good to scrape up enough money during the winter months to buy a cab, let alone gamble a couple hundred for traveling just to look. During the summer I have no time to travel.

I'd still love to have a good southern cab, (and a bed floor). If you have one or get one in the near future, snap some pics, post 'em up, and if I can come up with the $ I'll gladly come down. (I just sold some tires/wheels so if you hurry I will have the $.)

I just checked out the cab you have on auction. I also put it on my watch page just in case I can afford it, (and the trip to come and get it).
