Re: Poll SWB OR SHORT STEP LONG WIDE OR LONG STEP
I prefer the Short Fleetside, but an anyone may have learned, there are times when a long box is preferred.
When GM came out with the long Fleetside boxes in '58 (yeah, I know there had been long beds before), people who used trucks as trucks but also liked the new styling (ala Cameo), went nuts. I have owned long and short fleetsides, as well as long and short stepsides. The proportion of the long step side is odd, to me. Long Fleetsides can look really clean, when lowered. It's all a matter of personal preference. Look at NADA's old vehicle price guide and you'll find that a LWB Fleetside has a higher price than the SWB Fleetside. The pricing is based on sales data, which can be skewed by a "ringer" of a sale being noted and used for documentation. Historically, as far as our hobby is concerned, SWB trucks sell for more than LWB trucks do. This doesn't mean there are no nice LWB trucks, whether Fleetside, Stepside or Longhorn.....au contraire, mon ami. There are lots of nice vehicles out there.

Re: Poll SWB OR SHORT STEP LONG WIDE OR LONG STEP
I'm married to two Redheads. One is my truck, it's wide, long and step. Both of them work hard and they are both damn good lookin.

Re: Poll SWB OR SHORT STEP LONG WIDE OR LONG STEP
It's got to be short wheel base to really catch my eye. I own a step but do like the fleets also. Stock height and lowered, moderately are ok. There'll be no frame laying trucks in my garage.

Re: Poll SWB OR SHORT STEP LONG WIDE OR LONG STEP
I would have to say ,I like the short step.
My 70 Chevy is a long bed fleet....It's been in my family for a long time, so it grew on me. My 68 GMC is a short step...even though its VERY rough, It still looks good. Long beds look tough and short beds neat and sporty. JMO Someone on the board has in their sig: "everybody wants a short bed until they're at Home Depot" I hope they don't mind that I borrowed it.

Re: Poll SWB OR SHORT STEP LONG WIDE OR LONG STEP
I like them all, I'd have one of each if I had enough space and a good divorce lawyer.
