I agree with TX Firefighter there are plenty of Super recreations out there. They are fairly easy to spot, most won't have the option list on the glove box and if they do its easy to tell the reproductions. The original font and letter spacing GM used is difficult to duplicate and most people won't put the effort into actually making them look believable.

I found this glove box door at a swap meet in Sweden, Cheyenne Super and vinyl buckets, maybe that combo were possible on export trucks only.

I *THINK* that means all the Vinal trim is black.

If you got buckets in a Cheyenne super you did NOT get the houndstooth inserts, you got all vinyl.
Also, something strange about that option sheet is that Black was not available as an interior color in a Cheyenne super?? Look at all your books, they only offered Blue, Olive and Parchment. Strange.....Maybe an export thing???

Joe`s right.The houndtooth bucket seat covers that are now available were never originally available.The same for alot of bench seat cover colors and color combibations.

i have a cheyenne super and everything inside is black except for the woodgrain on the door panels, glove box, and instrument panel. outside it is all black with woodgrain inserts in the chrome. unfortunatly the glove box decal is long gone, and the seat may have possibly been replaced, its all vinyl with scrolls, i dont think thats correct.

That is correct if you got the houndstooth benchseat. The bucket seats and two additional colors available. I have an originial 72 sales manual. This is the book the dealer would order the truck out of. If you got buckets, you got vinyl and a choice of Blue, Olive, Parchment, Black, or Saddle. The code was A50.

Very interesting. I have had 100's of these trucks (literally) and had yet to see one like that. Thanks for the info, Learning new stuff all the time!! Anyone else have a Cheyenne Super with Black interior (or saddle) listed on the option sticker???

I didn't know that all buckets were vinyl, I thought the bucket seats could ordered with houndstoth inserts. I see the houndstoth inserts for buckets in all the parts catalogs so I thought they were an original option.
Learning new stuff everyday.

you dont see many cheyenne supers w/ BB 402's out there.They are definately more collectible and more valuable than a standard truck. ecspecially if there are a lot of options that are original

I have a 71 Super that is the black and white tu-tone. The painted surfaces inside are black but the bench seat and door panels are white, the seat being white/black houndstooth.

Sorry, I wish I could because: 1) The truck is in my garage and I am away for the winter. 2) I have so much crap stacked around it I would have a hard time getting to it anyway. I'm probably going to sell it next summer. The black/white does look nice but it is easy to get dirty. The dash pad is black though.
