This is similar to what I'm aiming to make my truck look like.

I have the stock front bumper leaning against the shed. It is a 71-72 and I already have the correct 4x4 71-72 front bumper mounts. All I have to do is make it white. Yes I'm using it with a 69-70 grill. I plan to use the blinker openings on the bumper for driving lights.

too much stuff has a rear painted bumper up north. I hope to grab that soon then make it white too.

The stock steel wheels just hit the shop floor in the last week. They too will need to be blasted and painted white.

I think I'm going to paint the top of the cab white too.

BLAZERMAN - Thanks for the mid-winter inspiration.

For those of you out looking for stock steel wheels, DON'T FORGET TO "TRY ON" YOUR WHEELS BEFORE YOU PAINT, MOUNT, AND BALANCE THEM.

I started painting the other sheet metal on my truck this past fall:

I agree, these are 31X10.50R15LT.. too fat and noisy (but enough about my ex). I prefer a narrower look, and in the future I'll be running something like an 9.5 width but I'll have to make a sacrifice in height.
I really like the look of the taller stock looking tire/ wheel combo (like Blazermans)and I believe you have alot more options in a 16" rim...I may suck it up in the future and hand a hunk o' green over to Stockton to build me some.

thanks for all the input guys. i picked up five of the 15 x 8 from frank (PICKMUP) today. also got a ton of other stuff from him. you pnw guys should check out his place if you're ever gonna be in the area. weather was so bad today it took me almost 2.5 hours to drive the 80 miles to his place. woulda stopped and hobnobbed with other board members along the way, but i was just happy to get home in one piece in my lil scion.

Mark, I must have missed your call...LOL! I know what you mean about the weather! PICKMUP (Frank) has a great stock or parts and trucks! It is tough to leave there without something. Glad that worked out for you.

Re: stock steel wheel guys....

I read you WTB thread but figured you wouldn't want to pay shipping for the ones I have.

Four drum and two disc factory dog dish style wheels.

Good luck and let us see what you find.
