Re: How Low With "20s

This is my truck, sorry for the crappy photo it is from my camera phone. I have the 20" Eagle Alloy 025's with no problems rubbing. Of course I had to remove my inner fenders. The tires are 245 35 r20's all around.

not to rain on your parade,............but you wont be able to go too low with that tire size in the front. Thats a pretty tall tire.

I'm running 3 inch drop spindles plus 2 inch drop coils with a half coil cut out also. In the back I'm running a rear flip kit with drop shackels and hangers.

I agree.... That's pretty tall. A 4/6 might be all you can go.

Oops, Guess I Got Alittle Confused. It Not To Late To Change My Tire Size In Front. SO YOU ADVISE A 245/40-20 FOR THE FRONT?

It depends on the look your going for. As some of the others have suggested, a 20x8 (5" bs) and a 20x10 (5" bs) setup is a popular choice. Then, run a 245/40s in front and 295/40s in the rear. If you've gone with 8.5s all around with the same bs, you may have wished to go wider in the rear or, at least, less bs in the rear. But, I think you may be at the minimum wheel width for the 275/45s. The 275/45s may look better on a wider wheel.
BTW, I think someone on here is running 285/35/22s on front and 325/40/22s on back with a 6/8 drop. I haven't heard if he's got it all back together and running yet. (Don't know if rubbing in the front is an issue.)

If you got some $$ left over from your 'shoe' purchase and the static drop components, how 'bout buying bags, plates and cups for the front to go with your 3" drop spindles.? While you have the front apart, you could install the bags with schrader valves for a manual setup (no compressor/tank needed yet.) It's a bit unconventional, but you could then just work on the rear setup and air supply once funds become available. Just a thought...

Good luck...

Re: How Low With "20s

Ok Its Not To Late For Me To Change My Tire Sizing, But If I Stay With The 275/45's How Low Do You Think I Can Get Away With? I Figured That With More Side Wall It Would Fill The Wheel Wells Better And More Importantly Have A Decent Ride. What Do You Think?

That's close to a 31" tall tire..I would say a 4/6 would be pushing it...of course, I'm getting away with a 5/7 with a 28" tall tire, with ABSOLUTELY no problems...which makes me considering upgrading to a 275/45 20" and go with a 4/6 or 3/5...

Then I would do like BoxRodz previously suggested, put a 3" Spindle on the front + Airbag on a shraeder valve, then put a flip Kit on the back and buy a shackle. Then, get whatever wheels you want, and if you want to go lower, deflate the airbag and put on the shackle...or if you don't want to go any lower, you'll still have airbag in the front (rides MUCH better than spring) and you can send the unused drop shackle back.

OK I SWITCHED TO A 245/40 20" FRONT AND 295/45 20"REAR. YOU GUYS WERE SUCH A BIG HELP. THE PEOPLE A THE TIRE STORE ARE NO HELP WHEN TRYING TO SIZE TIRES/WHEELS WITH SUSPENSION DROP IN THE FUTURE.
I HAD THIS FEAR OF SPENDING 2K ON WHEELS ONLY TO FIND OUT NOW I CANT LOWER MY TRUCK ANY FUTHER BECAUSE MY TIRES ARE THE WRONG SIZE.

-N2TRUCKS, BOX RODS& DROPED84 THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION OF INSTALLING A BAG INFRONT INSTEAD OF A COIL. SPACING OUT THE COST OF A BAG SYSTEM IS MUCH EASYER, WITH OUT WASTING TIME, $$$, AND PARTS. THANKS AGAIN. EVERYTHING WAS SPECIAL ORDER SO AS SOON AS IT ALL COMES IN, YOU GUYS WILL BE THE FIRST TO SEE PICTURES.
