NICE 1980 Chevrolet Sport!

I talked with him before myself.....if I remember correctly, he has several other Chevy Sports, but not in as good of condition. I'm trying desperately to find someone with a 1978 Chevy Sport stepside, so I can get specs on the striping...........

WOW!!! I've only seen those in the magazine ads. I figured they've all been painted over by now but it's good to see that some survived.

Wow, interesting truck.

I have to say, I like it for the "rare" factor and the way its a special edition. Pretty cool stuff. However, call me boring and conservative, but I prefer the solid colors or a two-tone with the factory chrome accents.

The sport coupe truck is cool, too. Looks really aggressive!

I had not seen that thread (I try to google "Chevy Sport" once a month or so....)

There is a local, large car show in Newark every year and there is an older guy who has a 1978 Chevy Sport fleetside that I can get the hood, front fender, and door specs from, but I still need the stepside and tailgate. He is the original owner...

I just know that someday, I will find a pristine one!!!!

are thes the rares 73-87 truck they are. i know were a 78-79 stepside with buckets and sport stripes. it is blue with white buckets and door panels and over head with blue carpet and blue dash. it has the white sport strips. my truck has the white and red inter. too. and will big block trucks be rarer are the sport truck and street coupe the rares. just wondering

Yes they did....

I was with my mom and dad when they bought a red 78 2wd stepside Chevy Sport. The dealer also had a white 78 stepside Chevy Sport.....I remember my dad wheeling and dealing and the final deal was $6000.00 even, out the door!!!

The one below sold on ebay about a year ago for $600.00 bucks (I found it about 2 minutes before the auction ended...), but the seller said he had removed all the striping after he took the pics!!!!

The Chevy Sport package (Z77) could be had with any engine and tranny. I would assume the 6 cylinder and big blocks are the rarer ones. I THINK that the Z77 could only be had with the Scottsdale package, but I may be wrong on that part.......

You could also get bench or buckets.....

The pic I posted just above is a Chevy Sport. I'm not real familiar with the GMC version, but I think it is also a Z77 option, but called the Street Coupe........

The one in your picture is a Chevy Sport 1974 (I think) and Mom's is a 1978. The Z77 package changed every year....

That is a 76 Chevy Sport. Chevy made the Chevy Sport trucks (and vans) from 76-81.

GMC made the Street Coupe from 77-81, it's also RPO code Z77.

Ther used to be two of thos trucks in my town years ago they were both 1980s and they were black and silver with orange and red stipes, one was a fleetside and the other was a stepper The fleet was realy cool.

hey guys i know this thread is old but i joined so maybe i could find some more info and stuff on the street coupe package....my father owns a 1981 GMC stepside street coupe with a 305 mincie 4 speed with posi....the color scheme is Black/blue stripe/charcoal gray....it has the factory paint and aluminum wheels.....i can get pics for you guys but i was hoping to maybe find one of the 1981 year model brochures for my father as a gift..
