Apparently you know insider information that no one else does.

Sure would be nice to see a board member get it though. Build one of those dually bed's like 68gmccrewcab or someone made, plank it on the truck in place of that rack body, and you'd have one sharp truck.

Oh my lord!! That is my dream truck. I have a '68 GMC 3500 parts truck with funky looking 18's. My '67 C-30 came with 17.5" one piece wheels. Both are expensive tires, although UD and some Isuzu cab over trucks still run 17.5's so at least they are still readily available.

Re: Napco 67 K30

Its doubtful i will end up with it. I hate reserve auctions. Either you know what you want for it or you dont. Why leave people in the dark. I wish this was for sale a month ago. I could of gone the distance bid wise. Somebody will probably snipe it at the last few seconds. Who knows, maybe the seller thinks its a 15k truck? Either way, it should get a good home. Not some young punk who does'nt realize what it is and just butcher it with some "homie" wheels and a CD player!

Are we twins?I agree with all you said. And,that truck is too nice to restore even yet!Other than a mechanical go-over,that`s a show-ready truck to me.I`m talkin`ATHS here!If I had liquid cash,I`d say screw the auction, get in touch with the seller, and just say,"Let`s cut through it.You want to deal with this Ebay crap,or a you gonna take my money!"I couldn`t endure the auction on a find like this.If I thought I could,I would just buy it and not cry about what I should have done.
I was lucky enough to have`71 Chevy NAPCO with that drivetrain under it,but single wheel. It got stolen when I sold the utility bed off of it in preparation to do a restoration.I will go to my grave sure that the owner of the shop had something to do with it.At the same time,he had sandblasted and primered a Reading work cap for me.When I went to pick up the cap he comes right up and asks,"When did you get your truck?"Huh?I didn`t!He says,"The junkman musta took it,he`s been here."Right!!A running truck complete except for bed sitting behind a truck body business. No need to ask, surely it`s junk, better haul it out.I had rebuilt the drivetrain with all those scarce parts and it just needed cab repair and a bed.I had just bolted a new Quadrajet on the motor to drive it the 5 miles to his shop.He forgot to charge me for the bed removal and sandblast/primer work. This was in`92,he better watch his back.I`ll never forget!!

I would get even some way, some how. There is no way a junkman is going to take a running 71 Chevy, "assuming" its junk if it's at a truck body buisness. The owner had to have had something to do with it.

Re: Napco 67 K30

FYI, I struck a deal a few years ago on my 71 napco with the seller after the auction had closed on ebay ...I had to pay through the nose for it because the seller needed to buy another truck to replace it with. I would probably not do it again on that particular truck because it needed some mechanical work (front axle $$$) and is rusty, but the red 67 appears to be in better condition and has the correct drivetrain configuration; i.e. 292 I-6, 4-speed, 18" wheels. There is a local truck that I have seen that also has the same equipment. I have said it before that although we don't know of many of these trucks around, there is no telling how many are still hard at work on some farm or ranch somewhere. Special-K's comments are right on the money - that truck would be really cool in the ATHS and I would keep it original. If I had the money I would buy this one too.

Yes, congratulations Bruce on the new addition to the family...From the looks of the pictures you should be one proud new owner...these opportunities don't come around that often...Tom.

P.S. that is about the same as what I paid for my Blue 71 1-ton NAPCO.
