Re: SWB Fleet Floor and a 1PC Cab floor for 67-72!!!!

I wonder how much bracing would be needed to cut the entire floor out and replace it so that everything would hold true, or would it be necessary?

Re: SWB Fleet Floor and a 1PC Cab floor for 67-72!!!!

I just called again.

One piece floor panels are $299.95 plus $95 shipping (to a business) or $125 shipping to a residence.

These DO NOT include the frame braces as previously reported.
They have the LOW hump.
The front of the pan goes no higher then the floor panel sections previously available.
The rear does go back all the way into the corners.

These may not be my best way to go for me... I'll have to talk with by body guy.

I think a lot of people are interested in the bed floor and not so much the cab floor.

I emailed Goodmark a couple of days ago about the bed.
Here is their reply:

"I would guess 6-12 months a date has not been set yet.we will be coming
out with full cab floors 08/25/06 the bed should be next."

Me too. They should be 100% complete like the 67-69 Camaro floors IMO
Looks like I may go the old fashioned route after all...

Re: SWB Fleet Floor and a 1PC Cab floor for 67-72!!!!

That rear tank/support brace is an item that badly needs to be reproduced.
The floor without that brace is not very useful IMO. I couldn't get back to them when they called..JK...

No support for the tank huh? Guess I would have to add a new tank kit to the budget. I would like to see the bed floors too. I am sure they won't be longbed. I was going to try and incorporate and late model longbed floor.

That's a good idea since they are more plentiful. Has anybody else tried this?

Re: SWB Fleet Floor and a 1PC Cab floor for 67-72!!!!

efabman, I have your video and am going to get started on the sheet metal work on my cab soon.
I was wondering what you though of the 1pc cab floor.
Do you think it would be harder to do the whole floor vs all the pieces? I do have rust in areas where the typical floor pieces dont cover.
You didn't use any welded in bracing on your video, but I would imagine if you took the whole floor out, you would need to brace the cab.
Any insite would help.
By the way I would recommend his video to anyone doing the cab theirself.

Re: SWB Fleet Floor and a 1PC Cab floor for 67-72!!!!

I think if you have significant rust beyond what the floor patches cover then maybe the entire floor would be the way to go, but every typical rusty repairable cab I've seen and repaired, maybe 85% was cover by the floor sections (patch panels). The rest had areas where small sections had to be hand made to repair areas that the patches didn't cover. I think it would be more work to replace the whole floor than the patches especially since the whole floor doesn't have the braces. I really don't think it will be a very big seller for them but I could be wrong. I prefer not to brace the cab because I like to move the cab around so that the door opening can be manipulated to fit the doors I'm using. Its just harder to work when there is bracing in the way. About the only thing that will move is the "B" pillar area and you may want them to move to get good door gaps while fitting the cab corners and outer rockers.

Anyway, thats my story an I'm stickin to it.

bkwagon, let me know if you need any help once you get started
