Hey Im glad you got it worked out to .........I wasent sure what year truck you were working on but I was in the same boat here on my 84 gmc when I tried puting the pads and calipers back in postion those rings and little parts shown in the picture 2,3,4 .The holes in the spindel have raised edges and I needed to back off those little guides that have the o ring around them .They just needed a little screw driver to push them back and bingo .

I know Im late but I just did my complete brake job saterday.
