Re: Carpet Group Purchase

I would be interested in a black one for a 68 low hump column shift. I would also like to know if they go all the way to the gas tank. Thanks.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

As I mentioned, they are described as going "to the back wall", which means it should go at least to the gas tank.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

So far, here is the list I have for people who said they want to be involved, or indicated that they "might" be:

71swb4x4
Huskerboy2
Steph67
Obsesive23 x2
St1x10
Gregbr x2
AKChevyman
Greenhorn Male
Longhorn Man
Biglou55
Exta56
Tropical Snowstorm

So far that brings the tentative list to 14. So far it's looking pretty good that we'll at least hit the 10 person minimum, and even a pretty good chance that we'll move up to 20 or more by May 19.

Also, I didn't forget about you guys who asked for pics of the texture of the various types. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to get those pics.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

How much does one of the high hump 73-80 carpets cost without this group purchase option? I do need a carpet for my truck, but I am not entirely sure I've got that much money for my truck at the moment (taxes were killer this year, lol), but may be convinced if the savings are significant...

If I did go for it, the next big issue would be if I should go for blue or black... I eventually want to get a black 81+ interior, but not sure when / if I will, LOL

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

My regular price for that carpet is $125, which is $10 more than the group purchase price with the minimum number of buyers.

Okay buddy, I am interested. Let me know when you are ready. I may do 2 sets aswell.

Edited-Actually I am only in for 1 in black 55-59 with colum shift. What is the "premium" difference?

The premium is a cut pile, but is 40% thicker than the standard cut pile. It gives a nicer, thicker, more plush appearance. The denser material gives a more consistant appearance over curves and radisuses. The thicker carpet is great in a show vehicle, but perhaps not really worth the extra cost for a daily driver type of vehicle.

If you PM or email me with the desired colors and your address, I can send them out.

For now I'm just taking a roll call. I'll do this until May 19. By then, I'll total up the number of participants to determine the number of potential buyers. I'll announce what discount tier we wound up in, and then I'll require payment within one week. Once I get all of the payments, I'll submit the order.

Thanks

Thumbs up Re: Carpet Group Purchase

Put my name into the mix. I will send payment next week once I learn what the actual payment will be.

Need:

1 GREY 80/20 loop carpet for a 55-59 GMC standard cab truck. Small hump on floor with column shifter. Carpet must be full length and lay underneath seat to near backwall gas tank.

Tom Moore (rvrwood@hotmail.com)

Thank you.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

Just a reminder that this will remain open until May 19, at which time I'll total up the number of buyers to determine what tier we wind up in.

Here's an updated list so far:

71swb4x4
Huskerboy2
Steph67
Obsesive23 x2
St1x10
Gregbr x2
AKChevyman
Greenhorn Male
Longhorn Man
Biglou55
Exta56
Tropical Snowstorm
Big Daddys
Tom Moore

This brings us up to 16 orders assuming everybody who said they want one actually buys one. If we can get 4 more the price will go down.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

I have a whole bunch of questions (sorry) but I've been contemplating this one since you first posted the info and I'm pretty close to biting the bullet and including myself as well here... but these are the things I'm still trying to figure out:

1) For a 79 c10, 2wd, AT, column shift, low hump, is there already an opening for the dimmer switch on the floor and are the edges of the hole finished off in anyway, or would I need to trim it out?

2) would it be possible to include as one of the GP carpets w/discount a 1987 2dr coupe, rwd, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme?

3) If the above would be an eligible carpet, what kind of price would I be looking at for it?

4) Do they have a listing in any catalogs they sent you of what the closest to stock color shade would be if I had the factory non-brougham blue interior for the 1987 olds best matching?

5) Do all the carpets include the factory style/location hardened heel pad built into them on the drivers side?

6) Do they warranty their carpets for any period of time as far as workmanship goes and not having severe fading issues? (probably not but never hurts to ask lol)

7) I'd be looking at ordering both of the carpets (price depending on the second one and if its included, etc) but do you think I could also get some very small small samples of each of the 3 basic weave types?

8) And my last question, and sorry about the length of these, but I noticed on the page you put up for example the "light blue" took on different shades based on weave type. If this just due to the fun of digital cameras or do the actual shades really differ between types (probably due to different producers/dying steps) and would I need to be careful which was ordered in order to get the proper color?

Thanks a million, great to see someone trying to put something like this together for the board, suprised more people arent jumping on it with spring rolling around... its summer project time people!

I'm not sure if it's got the hole for the dimmer switch, but I'd guess that it doesn't.

Yes, I can apply that carpet to the GP too.

I don't have my prices in front of me here at work, so I'll check tonight, but since that's a relatively small carpet, I think it'll be around $125 or $135 at the minimum GP level. I'll verify tonight.

No. Colors change so much over the years and across makes/models that it would be nearly impossible to compile that sort of information. I have samples of most available colors so that I can manually find the best match, although that doesn't do much good for Internet sales. However, if you're concerned about finding the best color, I can send a few samples so that you can compare them yourself.
Quote:
5) Do all the carpets include the factory style/location hardened heel pad built into them on the drivers side?
The carpets include a heel pad on the driver's side, but on the camaro carpets that I deal with the most, the heel pad does look different than stock. Since this is usually covered with a floor mat, generally it's not an issue. How closely the heel pad resembles the OEM heel pad in the trucks, I can't say.

6) Do they warranty their carpets for any period of time as far as workmanship goes and not having severe fading issues? (probably not but never hurts to ask lol)
I'll double check my paperwork tonight to see what it says about a warranty. I think it came with a short warranty, but I can't remember for how long.

Sure. Just PM or email me with the colors/styles you want and I can get those out.

All different carpet styles have unique colors. In most cases, if the name is the same, the color will be very similar, but generally not identical. I'm not sure if this is because the different carpet types absorb the die differently, or if there's an entirely different die used based on the material.

To be honest, I'm a bit surprised by the number of interested people too, but I guess it's understandable to be a bit leary of the "new guy" until he's established himself on the forum.

UPDATE:

Warranty is as follows:
Our molded carpets are backed by a 90 day guarantee against manufacturing defects as well as defects in the materials. (NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR EXCLUDED)

87 Cutlass pricing is $120.51 for the 10-19 tier, $113.60 for the 20-19 tier and $108.66 for the 30+ tier.
