Glasspacks are great I have them on my truck right before the rear axle true dauls no cats standard (side behind the wheels )exit.I like the sound not too loud (could be louder) I believe that they are the Summit or Headman brand.

Hello I'm running glasspacks with 2 1/2"pipes behind headers and exiting behind tires.I have 3.73 gears with a grannylow 4 speed.Not real loud idling but when you're running down the road my 350 buddies under hood just start raising h**l.Love it not even going to put a radio in.

Somehow I missed your post till today. My boys like it too. That's funny about the Hondas. I haven't had the priviledge of letting one have it but I know exactly what you are saying. Scare'em right off the road.

I forgot to mention I have an H-Pipe on mine. They say an X-Pipe is better but since I'm a do-it-yourselfer the H-Pipe was easier. With the old duals I could hear the imbalance in the exhaust at idle but can definitely tell it's gone with the H-Pipe.

Good post so far! My truck has the longer style glasspacks with the tips exiting out the side behind the rear tires. The previous owner put them on. I just recently started driving it and even though I think it sounds really cool, my buddies (paranoid types) are scared to ride with me anywhere in fear we will get pulled over for the noise. My everyday car is a cavalier and when I got it there was a fart cannon on the back of it too. I got pulled over after work one day due to the noise those things make when your engine is warming up and the fine ran me $120 here in OH. So I would suggest going with a quieter muffler if you live near nagging neighbors or in a highly enforced noise ordinance area.

The exhaust is Flow tech headers with 2 and 1/2" pipe to the 3" Purple horny glass packs then a 3" to 4" reducer that goes to a 4" pipe for a Big Rig... That setup makes a sound like no other... deep and very loud... But it isnt to bad in the cab... You can really hear it when people pass by on a 2 lane highway... Im keeping mine old school like we use to hear growing up...

My 85 chev had headers, x pipe, 12inch glasspacks on backwards, and 2 huge 4inch x 24 inch long tips comin straight out the back it sounded freakin sweet, loud as hell

The first thing I did when I got my 72 C/10 307 3 on the tree was take it and have duals and glass packs put on it. I had them ran in the stock location run out behind the rear wheels. The mufflers were short and red he called them cherry bombs. It is quite as long as you don't get in it. It has a nice deep sound when pulling or at speed.

I went to cruise night last Saturday... After that I went to Wal-Mart and was cruisen threw the parking lot looking for a place to park... Well I set off a hell of alot of car alarms lol... So if you like it very loud then go with this set up...

Well congrats, all of you officialyl have me adrenaline rushed. I'm real close to pissing my pants righit now. My motor is only a 250 straight six, but I'm going with ehaders and want to go with nice, short cherrybombs. There are a lot of car alarms that need to be set off......

Some litle short stack a-hole was in a Honda hatchback revving up his fart can behind me. I know him from school. DOn't really care for him. I just wish my truck had the header set up with the 2bbl. So I know it won't stall and produce a louder sound

I'm goign with loud, don't care what pitch the noise is so logn as it beats that a-hole's fart can. Next time I see him at the red light, I just wanna lay on 3,000 R's and scare him

For the money, these are a great deal. $29 and they sound amazing.
It's sorta like the flowmaster 40 but it doesn't have the quite the same chambery sound. I have the 3 chamber 50 series and they sound similar.

However, I do love the sound of a glass pack. But, like many of you have mentioned, it has to be the right set up. The longer the glass pack the more mellow and sweeter the sound.

I had my truck at the All truck Nats in KC this weekend and they did a test on my truck to see how load it was. The meter hit 122.7 DB at 6500 RPM. There was a mud jeep there with a hot open header motor that hit 124 DB so it isnt to far off from open header sound.

My 69 has one 18" blue streak glass pack, I have another, so when i get off my butt this winter I will have dual exhaust with two 18" blue streaks. they are load, but not 2 obnoxius, have agood sound to them. My Big block bronco has 30" glasspacks, blue streak also if I remember right, they sound really good, still pretty close to the same sound now as when new, 6 years ago.

Mine are so old I couldnt tell you whom or what made em but they sound better than a poppin sound like the dumb lil rednecks around my town have and they are flowmasters. Since the truck is so old Im thinking about straight headers to the ground

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of glasspacks.

I run headers, to 26 inch cherrybombs, to 2 inch pipe, out in front of the rear tires. $18 bucks apiece, plus being "traditional", or atleast what I like to here, it was a no-brainer for my build.

It's only 2 inch pipe cause my 307 is..well...a 307. She sounds good, I've been complimented on it before, and someone said it was "distinctive". haha. Not too loud, but can talk to ya when you want it to.

Love it when someone hotshot pulls up next to me at the lights, especially with the windows down. When I roll through, and bring it up to about 1.5-2 grand, just lay into it, and pull to 4 k. Ya know they won't forget the sound of a good V8.

That, and the exits in front of the rear tire, theres a little tunnel in town. Just enough that when you go through it, punch the clutch, and just get on the throttle a little as you go through it, the sound walks up the sides , and sounds awesome. Everyone whose been in the truck when that happens gets an instant grin - even the chicks.

I am running th exact same set up as Samwise. It is just an old early 70's thing....& i love it.... Besides, everyone in newer model trucks are running Flowmasters.

My truck has the longer 'packs behind ram horns with turn downs just in front of the diff. When I got it it I thought it sounded pretty crappy but after a good tune-up I rather like it. Not extremely quiet, nor obnoxiously loud, yet has a pleasing note when the go pedal is depressed and you can still here the 'Brock suckin big wind if pushed hard enough. It could prolly benefit from a cross-over pipe but I rather prefer the sound produced with the two banks separated.
My favorite was my on '70 El Camino, slightly warmed 350 with headers and long(30"?) 3 inch Purple Hornies turned out ever so slightly.(See location, lol)
