Re: what tranny do you have
Got a TH350 for now, but if it still slips when I change the filter and top it off with fluid I'm probably gonna try my hand at rebuilding a 700r4 I have laying around.

Re: what tranny do you have
Well it looks like the T350 is the most used in our trucks. Close count with the others though. Only 2 of us have a T350C. While I don't know anything about these trannys I hope it is as good as a regular 350. Mine needs to be built and I have to find out how to wire the clutch converter up proper. I assume all I'll need is a fused power to a brake pedal mounted switch then down to the tranny plug. Anyone have the schematic necessary to make it work? I know I can also install a toggle switch for it but would prefer it to be automatic.
I also have a long tail T350 from a 70 something truck. Any benefit to using it instead? My mind is made up to stay with the 350 trans. Plain and simple for this one, a carb and NO OD. Call it retro if you like.

Re: what tranny do you have
We got nothing but SM465's and Saginaw 3spds..............Looking to possibly put a ZF 6 spd behind my Diesel which would be nice. Like the old saying goes, if you can't find 'em, grind 'em.............Slush Machines are left at rita's italian ice, not in a truck
I would like an auto to plow snow with though. However, I don't know how long it would hold up to the use we would have for a truck the rest of the year. For daily driving and like loads I like the 3spds better, about the only tight SM465 we have is in my 1-ton, and we rarely run that truck, and the rest are really cute to run in traffic...........Basically rip the stick back and forth hoping you hit the hole your looking for. Sorta like a worn out 10 spd Roadranger behind a 8V-71 Detroit

Re: what tranny do you have
Robs- how ar econtrolling the 4L80E? I have one right now, but the only controllers I can find are $1100-$1800. If I could find a reasonably priced controller I would put it in.
Thanks,

Drag trailer or drag race, Old Yeller's SM465 does it all.

A powerglide in the 71
Probably the last year it was offered. It is listed on the glovebox option sheet.

Re: what tranny do you have
I am sold on TH-350's for life. Barring a big block buildup in the future [which would get an M22 or M21], gimme the best all around tranny in GM history.
